I've gotten to the point where I don't have to control everything (except in my personal sanctum, aka my desk...)

However, I do need to know everything about what is going on, so I can adjust my internal schedule accordingly. I get very annoyed if there is an unexpected change of events without cause (cause would be massive amounts of snow preventing me from going out one day), especially when people change schedules without telling me...

Well, I've only ever lived with my Mother...except for a short period of time where my ex lived with us. I can handle liviith my Mother even though we're both control freaks to a certain extent. She more than I. But we're fairly similiar in how we live and the way we like things, we've had our fights about the way things should be. But we're able to handle living with eachother, plus the added bonus of having done so for the past 20 years. haha
That short amount of time my ex was with us(we were together at the time.), I wanted to slap him upside the head damn near every second of the day.

My Mother and I live in organized chaos and it was really hard when someone was here messing up the vibe. It actually has me afraid of ever living with someone else because I don't want to relinquish any type of control and I don't want to compromise further than what I already do.

My Mother(who is autistic, in case that wasn't obvious.) is a control freak...as is her boyfriend(about his enviroment..) she's already tried telling him that she doesn't think she'll ever live with him, because she knows neither of them can change.

I used to be a total control freak and drove those closest to me to distraction. Especially my dad as he's a big control freak too.

Then a horse fell on me whilst riding on the road and I ended up with head injuries necessitating a spell in hospital. Since then I've been markedly less controlling and also a lot less tidy

So yes, I am still a bit of a control freak but will give way to a bigger, more vociferous control freak if one crosses my path
