I STILL sing (also badly) to myself at work all night long. I use it as a stress release valve and also as a mnemonic device to remember all the things I have to do.
Thank you for that vote of confidence DeaconBlues. I seem to have trouble deciding on the lesser of the two evils. Between "Negative Father/ No Father" I choose none and can only hope that in the long run I'v done the right thing. There is no love or respect there for anyone who would treat a child like that in me through, so I can't see how it could possiably have worked out.
But our home rings with laughter now so I can't complain. :D

I do stims that I'm not aware of, and ones that I can't help.
Stress makes them worse, so being yelled at DOES NOT help, and it probably won't help your little one.
IMHO, your husband should grow up a little.

He does have allergies. (tree pollen & ragweed....so basically it's year round......) Luckily....I know this is going to sound gross....it's confined to nose picking.

I said gross.....

His noises have gotten a lot worse this school year. I usually try to get him doing something else & that usually changes it a little.

Thanks for the input. I'm convinced now that it is his way of stimming.....

What I've discovered about the senses is that verbal expression is unconscious because it is the release of energy. Visual stuff is conscious because you are concentrating on it and that makes you aware of it (bound attention, rather than freed).
