Martian Child <3 i haven't seen it yet, but i definately want to. my sister and mom saw it, though, and told me i would relate to that kid. i've been wanting to see it since i saw the first previews.

also, a little off topic, but there are anime characters i relate well to because they seem to be on the spectrum.. like Koushirou (Izzy) from Digimon. :D

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, for the one character that every Aspie knows is in the spectrum.

But in Dumb and Dumber thier stupidity was on a super heroic level. They were super stupid. Till it became a way to face a difficult world and beat it armed with thier superior stupidity.

Plus in the end it had a "bros before hos " feel to it. That friendship is most important. I liked that.

They didnt know how dumb they were and didnt see the unusualness of others as something to avoid.

I just love the movie because its the only time I ever laughed so hard in the theatre that I threw up.

I guess Pee Wees Big Adventure is one as well.

Particularly, Seymour strikes me as the type. Intense narrow interest in old records. Socially clueless; in his own words, "I cant' relate to 99% of humanity." Plus he has a rather bizarre (but cool) friendship with a girl somewhere in the neighborhood of half his age.

Ghost World and the Wrong Planet are definitely co-terminus; think about it.

Good fortune,

Revenge of the Nerds.

(Actually, that movie made me proud of being a nerd long before I had even heard of Asperger's)

And this isn't a very good example of Aspieness, I hope NT's don't make a link, but the main character in Perfume. I know, the Aspie as psycho-killer is a terrible example, but I think his homocidal tendancies are as much a result of his environment. Have a look at Perfume and tell me if you think he's an Aspie or not?

Wow Bo Peep, You remind me of someone else I know. This person and his wife loves Donnie Darko, and I think this person even started a thread somewhere about Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer.

You are pretty cool Little Bo Peep! We should talk sometime. :D

Being There - absolutely brilliant portrayal of Aspie wisdom, a must-see

Martian Child - one totally Aspie kid

August Rush - another genuis-child movie

AI - ok, David is an android, but surely he's modelled on an aspie!

A Beautiful Mind - about a real life genius

You mean the guy who turned up at the girl's house with a box of different types of FLOURS? (Because she was a baker and he though she'd like these better than FLOWERS! )

Or do you mean the writer? She was a bit out of it.
