When in doubt, ask an autistic. Chances are, they're obsessed with what you need to know.

State Senator Brian A. Joyce, whose district includes the Rotenberg Center, has introduced two new bills that—while not proposing an outright ban on aversives (aversive is the pseudo-scientific jargon word to indicate punishing action including shocks and withdrawal of food) —would regulate their use much more strictly. "The harsh reality is we're doing this to innocent children in Canton, Massachusetts," he says. "If this treatments were used on terrorist prisoners in Guantanamo Bay, there would be worldwide outrage."

The founder and director of the Rotenberg Center is some Dr. Matthew Israel, a disciple of the late Skinner’s strict behaviorist school of psychology. According to Skinner’s doctrines, now totally discredited, there no way to read into somebody’s mind (which is a "black box"), but you can change behavior through rewards and punishments (conditioning). This you do normally with mice.

I'm all for getting dysfunctional kids in line...that are within boundaries of the law itself. And somehow I don't think this is. Strict dieting would probably more effective and less inhumane than this.

Does this help adults with asperger syndrome. I guess I could never afford the price tag, and if I could I probably wouldn't want this treatment

I'm sure this formula will make more autistics psychotic than anything else.
