Yeah, I used to wear a light jacket year round. Here in Florida, that gets you a lot of flak. So I only wear a jacket when I feel cold. Which I have a higher tolerance for than most Floridians.

I've been rather mocked for that in the past. Coats are more attractive, and insulate me from the irritating breezes.

In my younger days [aged 5-12] when I was at primary school, I used to have to do long distance running each weak for physical education.
I always wore my sweat pants, my skivey and jumper to school, regardless of the weather. I used to run in them, too. The teachers were always frantic that I was going to pass out one day while running because of the heat and always used to make me take off my jumper  Besides that, the students would always say..."Aren't you boiling?!". To this day, I have taken that statement literally and said..."No, can you see any bubbles?". [I know the meaning of it NOW but just use it as to get laughs, back when I was younger I actually thought people were asking me if I were boiling like a pot of hot water  ].

I still dress for winter in summer for two reasons...1) I get badly sunburn't as I have fair skin and I want to avoid that as much as possible...2) I like the feeling of being "snug" and having clothing against my skin.

Yep,

I get this one all the time.

My reasons;

1. I'm not too hot (sensory?/tolerance?)
2. I feel comfortable (protected/wrapped/hugged?)
3. I figure that if I remove my outer layer, I'll lose it.

I hear it, yes. "Bah! Weakling." is my standard response. :)

Thank god for the invention of capris. And people wondered why I was a tomboy. Have you seen how short girl's shorts are???

People get concerned about my non-reaction to cold.

I used to suffer constantly with chilblains (mild frostbite) as a child because I would never wear socks, gloves, scarves etc.

I'm a winter person - I love the cold, frosty weather. I think better in cold weather.

I wonder if it's because most of my ancestors came from cold latitudes: a congenital adaptation? My average body temp is 1.5. degrees lower than the norm (same with pulse and BP - both much lower than average person).

Heh, reminds me of a story...

I was in my last year of school, and it was early December. Snow was already on the ground, and I was in a Weight Trainiong class as an elective. I didn't want to bother changing back into my pants, so I just wore my shorts home. So, there I was, in shorts and a T-shirt, with a light jacket that was open, and I look over to see some exchange students looking at me. They were decked out in these huge, thick parkas, and there I was, shorts and a jacket.

And I was plenty warm. :P

When I am walking around outside and someone asks me if I am cold, I reply "Yes." They will then inevitably ask me why I don't put on a jacket or something. My standard reply is "Because I don't care." This always baffles them and shuts them up.

My poor son hears it all the time...mostly from me. We finally came to an agreement that he is a "teddy bear" and just doesn't get cold, so I stopped nagging him about wearing shorts and sleeveless shirts when it's 50 degrees out.

I just wear the extra sweater for him

Yeah, I get the "aren't you cold?" line a lot. Especially from my mom. :)

Sometimes I really don't notice I'm cold until someone points it out. I chalk this up to my sensory problems, I guess :?

Alternatively I don't have any trouble telling when I'm too hot. Usually even if I'm a bit too hot I notice right away, interestingly.

I'm hypersensitive to heat, so I don't dress as warmly as other people... so I get "Aren't you cold?" a lot.

They also get confused when I start losing my ability to think after being in a too-warm room for a few minutes.

I finally stopped wearing a jacket everyday when I was 17. When I wore jackets out of season or contrary to the weather report, people seemed to be offended. I have no idea why my one piece of clothing interfered with everyone else's way of life. They became too hot to wear in Georgia, but I moved on to pajama tops. Fluffy, lightweight, and they keep me at the perfect temperature.

I stopped wearing coats altogether last year. I still wear a scarf in the winter and mittens sometimes, I love my mittens! People just know not to even bother asking am I cold anymore, I only get it from people I don't know well.

I don't really get too warm either as long as it isn't really humid.

I'm often cold, I can say I'm much more sensitive to lower temperatures than others. Once I was in a bus and I was wearing a T-shirt, a blouse and a sweater and I was so cold that I decided to wear also a coat while that guy sitting with me was wearing only T-shirt and it's everything.
