thats probably the most typo ridden reply i have seen in this thread... EVUR!! !
That seems to be the standard for written language in English youngsters... go to bebo.com and look through profiles. Or go to www.theargus.co.uk (my local paper) and look through the comments on any youth-related article.
Pfft, and we all complain about your 'American English'...
(Drives me absolutely mad. I'm a stickler for proper grammar and correct apostrophes!)
Not everyone is lucky enough to have a great education, I myself had no real education, I'm dyslexic and dyspraxic and only found out recently, have had to muddle through before....
it does not mean I am less intelligent than anyone else.
Youngest these days do not relate to the old fashion grammar anyway, and there the ones we need to help the most.

There's a difference between genuine dyslexia and the difficulties that arise from that, and illegible 'txt writing' in lazy teens who can't be bothered to learn how to spell words as basic as 'because' and 'you' and 'whatever', and who DO have the education to do so.

dyslexia usually is able to spell on a very basic level unless it is mixed with other comorbid conditions...

When in doubt, ask an autistic. Chances are, they're obsessed with what you need to know.

My older son is not dyslexic, in fact very intelligent, diagnosed with NVL, having a good education.
Its not because it is lazy this is just an area he has problems with, like many others and therefore, finds easier to use this language. What I am trying to say to you is that you should not prejudge others on there text, spelling or grammer etc... with not really knowing there individual situation.
As this is a huge problem and often if youngests are put down when at least they are trying to communicate, they lose confidence. Some may be lazy, but a lot are not, I have spent a life time feeling ashamed until I understood and knew the reasons for my difficulties...

The majority are.

Sorry, but when you see every frigging teenager in an entire country writing like that, especially in areas where they should be typing/writing properly, you know there's something seriously wrong - either with their education and the education curriculum, or with them.

There is a lot more to dyslexia than not being able to spell, I still have problems and have to re check everything, words just muddle around, we in fact use a difference part of our brain for this process and always will be more complex for some of us.
Maybe these two articles will help you understand the overall picture....

Does this sort of text really matter anyway, youngest will be youngest and just another phase, not meant for us adults anyway, we all need to think our way is not the only way, they need to able to experiment to learn and grow... we do not evolve by staying put!

Lekiwi,
Americans may take English to mean those speaking English.
asplanet,
When I was a LITTLE kid, people were upset with me because I:
1. only used lowercase.(Now they say I use too much uppercase!)
2. didn't use enough punctuation.(Now they say I use too much!)
These days, you have to FIGHT to IGNORE "adults", EVEN "TEACHERS", using HORRENDOUS grammar! They will not use the proper objects with prepositions, switch pronouns, use improper words, and dangling participles, etc... An example?
Him and me went to the store but we don't never go to the store. We ain't never going there again, but we don't know where else we will go to!
That is really PAINFUL to hear, and about as bad to write! YIKES!
Enough with the digression!
I think I found ANOTHER reason why I have been having a harder time mentally! Recently, I have been dreaming more, remembering it more, remembering better, recalling better, more focused, etc.... I EVEN started attacking German like I did English when I was 5! I don't think I have really done that before.
I think it might be due to wheat or gluten. After a week of success, I regressed after ingesting a lot of wheat products! Today, I seem to be improving.
It FITS! When I was younger, and did so well, I ate FAR less bread. To stay awake before long events, I had products that had yeast. It would be funny if this made such a big difference.
I STILL have autistic symptoms, etc...(meltdowns, lack of social interaction, stims, etc...) , I just feel like I am moving more towards the smart AS stereotype.(better memory, hyper attention, etc...)

That is text-speak, written by people who type the way they text message.
In the US, we would call that something like "Ebonics" or urban slang. In the UK, it's like the "chav" lingo. My brother was a terrible speller and I knew a lot of guys that couldn't spell or write well at all. They didn't write like the above quotes.
For instance, a poor speller would likely write, "I wouldnt think so but than agin, I dont real notice things like that. I'm not that obessive about my A.S.. I just try to live with it."
Typos are in a whole other class. Fat finger typos are my problem, but I try and check my stuff.
LeKiwi, I did read your post and have no problem with the paragraph on UK youth, mine was and asid comment on the "we all complain about your 'American English'" part of the text, as it didn't make sense to me directly following the UK youth streat talk paragraph. Further, I do have some friends who've recieved education in the UK and would see the British grammatical errors in the blurb as well, because its not offical. However, as I've never been to the UK, yet, and have no educational background there, I went with the American version. Its written in a slang form not an offical English form eithor way. I suppose I should have specified this though.

Bebo rocks. Like oh my G-d. I can't type. Like a real person can. It's too much effort to be a responsible person. Oh my G-d.
