I'm in the category that probably would have said yes years ago but now will have to pass. Let's be honest-- I've got the hard part out of the way. "Now that you've run the marathon, let's get the broken glass out of your sneakers."

Am cannot think how a cure could even exist [at least for adults],but would like to 'cure',or at least weaken the traits that help to make life torture.
Am want to be able to have full verbal ability, want to 'feel' when exactly need to use toilet, want to be able to cope with routine changes, want senses weakened so that can stay inside whilst the hoover is on or washing machine spinning etc, walk out the door or use public transport and not end up in a meltdowning wreck, want to have less meltdowns and no headbanging,be able to hear noise and not lose vision,be able to tolerate different textures and feelings,be able to understand what exactly are feeling,be able to understand more than one simple thing said...
but do not want the core part of am to be wiped out, autistic mentality-autistic thinking.
am have grown up this way and don't know any different, have lived twenty three years this way and have gained many memories, thoughts, challenges and experiences,am only know things from this perspective.
To change neurotype if that ever is possible, would be like comitting suicide.
