Significant Representational Others Topic

I do not have an avatar, even though I think in pictures. I guess I grew up in a non-avatar environment. I am not sure if wanting such an image is biologically based. If this is so, I may be lacking the avatar gene.

I like seeing the various avatars and photos, But for me, I do not really see that having one for myself would be relevant or necessary.

To be honest I just thought it looked neat - a neural synapse. But it does reflect my interest in science and my desire to become a scientist.

My avatar is me...in my stage costume from several months ago(my chinese zodiac sign is the rabbit..i relate to rabbits)...but I am quickly getting tired of it......lately my avatars have been mostly me..so as to remind myself that i am a real person....but I have been switching out the picture alot...maybe it means I am self-centered or something....dunnow

(Edit)pasted it here just in case I change it...as it goes with the explanation....but it has dawned on my that the pic will probly dissapear when i switch avatars.....oh well

My avatar does reflect my inner self.

I tend to be on my guard a lot (less so now, but for most of my life) and I found having an aggressive and intimidating demeanor made a lot of people leave me alone. It worked on bullies in highschool and it just sort of stuck with me in a better safe than sorry type of self-reinforcing type of thing.

By the way, that is my eye. I have very few pictures of myself (don't see the need for them), but those I do have usually get photoshopped in some way to make me look hideous and frightening.

Check out my MySpace avatar... If you dare!

ugly people need love too.

I choose Sid for an avatar, because we're both chubby and cute. :P

mine is from the site-provided list because i still haven't bothered to find out how to upload or whatever from anywhere else, and this one is the only one that fit, or at least didn't jar.
I like it. It's agequeer, almost completely disembodied, and eyes all the better to see you with, but no mouth, ears, nose etc. It's anxious, blue haired, ( my hair is increasingly silver-white-grey), and almost genderqueer too. :)

Hermione, because she's pretty much what I was like in school. I also used to look like her when I had my natural hair. And I like the Harry Potter books/films.

Not because I'm magical, not because I think i'm smart, and not because she is my soul or whatever you're trying to say about avatars.

Sedaka did someone here call you ugly?? You are not ugly at all. It was probably someone who was jealous

Can you show me where someone called you ugly so I can tell them off? Some people think creative makeup equates to dark evil personality. Not always true.
