When I was yonger, my mother used to complain at my "weak personality". It was because of my complete imitation of manners, gestures etc, of the people nearby - friends, classmates...
Now I can mimic accents and intonations quite easy.
I think that it's one of the obvious ways to survive in this world for people like us...

Th Damned are my favorite band, and I've tried to sing like him (in the car, alone...) but it's tough to get that low! I have other male singers that I try to imitate (also, in the car).

As far as general imitation, I can't think of a specific character, but I know I get lots of quotes and hodgepodge bits that I like. I know I've freaked out my husband with the accuracy of my Steve Coogan before...

I used to be good at doing impressions of The Grinch from that movie starring Jim Carrey.

Dick Dastardly
For reasons STILL unknown I had an Aulstralian accent in 3rd grade.

Because of the Harry Potter EXPLOSION I had a British accent all through 5th grade. This was BEFORE the movies started coming out. I got the first 4 in 4th grade and I could HEAR them as I read. The movies came out and I was like "woah, I was right" the only voice I got "wrong" was Dudleys.

I mimic the accents and sayings around me. Always have. If I do not I will sound overly formal.(I will sound like a kid out of Village of the Damned)

When I'm "normal"(as opposed to hyper) I sound like Temperence Brennen(Bones)with a higher voice. Not copying that though...

I mainly mimic the drama/english teacher's sayings. They are fun. :) She told me to say things inhale deeply instead of saying they suck. Tis more dramatic.

I might mimic someone out of sarcasm, but not often. As a kid though I loved to pretend to be cartoon characters.... my faveorite during the time was She-Ra: Princess of power. I loved that show!

I have a tendency to speak in an English accent and it apparently annoys people. So they tell me. I always answer the phone in the accent (which actually seems very natural to me) and I use it when out in public. I am also a huge Anglophile with an obsession with all things English and I watch an inordinate amount of English television. I pick up on accents well and I have a habit to use the pronunciation and accent of a word the way I heard it the first time I heard the word spoken (I'm not very good at articulating thoughts so forgive me if the previous bit didn't make sense.

I wanted to be David Bowie during his Thin White Duke days. Followed the Damned around for a year, love Dave Vanian.

I use so many quotes from movies and books in my language, that I've kinna evolved into a pretty weird character.

I'm pretty sure that they modeled House after me, though. LOL.

I can't think of any person I can imitate character-wise, but I've always been able to convincingly mimic accents - Southern U.S., New Yorker, Australian, British, Latino (Mexican) and Spanish, as well as French and Italian. I also mimic animal sounds, particularly birds. I can do a good turkey call, too.

I pick up almost any distinctive voice I'm exposed to repeatedly. If I watch the same television show for weeks or months on end, eventually I'll find myself doing a voice or voices from the characters (usually starts in the shower). Cartoon voices are easiest, because they're exaggerated to begin with, thus have more potential handles to grab. I think that is actually a kind of autistic savant talent for me, which served me well writing and producing radio commercials for years. In the studio, people don't think you're insane if you're conversing with yourself as Dale Gribble, Bill Daughtrieve, Boomhauer and Hank Hill, all at once. Though they're still probably thinking:

"The boy's not right, I tell you what."

To which I'd have to answer:

"Yeh, well you onna dagum ol' neurolotta tellyawhatcha ding-dang "ol' gotcha own problems too, man.

Yup.

I don't really imitate characters unless they have a specific accent or particular way of speaking, like House or someone with an English accent. And even then it isn't really conscious. More like...my inner monologue starts speaking that way, but it only rarely comes out vocally.
