Imho magneto wasn't such an obvious evil in the series or comics as he was in the movies, even there I didn't think too much of him as a "bad guy" either.

I have been saying that(to my friends) since I first saw part one. I truly believe that we, with AS, are natures' attempts at, genetic evolution. Some of our traits are good, some are bad. That's why I disagree with the "complete cure" concept, but that's another story altogether.

I felt sorry for Magneto in the films.

Nope there's plenty of us crazy enough here to make that connection. I want to be Mystique as I'm a bit of a bi-chameleon:

Quote:
Mystique is a mutant shape-shifter whose natural appearance includes blue skin and yellow eyes. She is over 100 years old, stated in her solo series (issue #17): "I wasn't born last night, or even last century, for that matter..." Mystique is also the biological mother of Graydon Creed, Nightcrawler and foster mother of Rogue. She was forced to abandon Nightcrawler, but raised Rogue for a number of years and the two women have mixed feelings towards one another. She is one of the few bisexual characters in comics.

I admit that my thoughts drifted while watching the 3. movie...

If I has as strong a reason to believe that someone would try to force a cure on me as Magneto had, what would I be willing to do to stop that?

Now obviously autists and aspies aren't as much of a threat as these mutants are, but Hitler didn't really share my idea of what constitudes a threat to society. We can't be sure that there will never be someone who wishes to cure us or destroy us for being different... what would you do should that day come?

Bleh I over think everything, no wonder I can't enjoy a good movie :(

Yeah, exactly what I thought. (And I supported Magneto in the first X-Men film, because I saw striking similarities with the anti-Jew meassures by the Nazis and the anti-mutant legislation in the film)
