On December 2nd, 2006, at 2:30 P.M. at the age of 33, I read the diagnosis on the report: Asperger Syndrome. "Oh dear, I have it".

Self diagnosed at 20/21, officially diagnosed at 22 or 23 (i'd have to check the date on the diagnostic report to see whether it's before or after my birthday).

LCH, wow, you were only diagnosed this year? Were you self diagnosed before that? I kind of got the impression from your blog that you had been aware of autism politics and stuff for a few years...

Actually no. I was just a plain ol' kooky "weirdo" before I got dxed. Got dxed October of '07 about a month after I got into an argument about my meds with my new psychiatrist. I had previously been dxed with atypical OCD, ADHD, General Anxiety Disorder and cyclothymia (like baby bipolar). The new guy put two and two together, and now here I am. :)

Just about a month ago, at age 16.
I'm think it's HFA/Asperger's

The age of knowing topic

Just over 8 years ago, at the age of 45. I was sent for evaluation because of poor practical skills in a college programme. I had never heard of Asperger's until then.

About 10. I can still remember that they used a one-way mirror to observe me...the cowards. But god knows how I even knew it was a one-way mirror. Maybe I just realised it when I got older and looked back.

A friend of mine who is studying psychology said that using a one-way mirror is all part of the process and is simply a way to observe them without making them feel self-conscious. But I still found it quite insulting.
