My obsessions got more normal with age, now it's popular music which is one of the most normal of them all (at least for someone of a similar demographic).

That's one of mine too! Do you have a favorite highway? Mine is US 41. I was QUITE obsessed with it back in the 80's and 90's, even wrote a book but wasn't able to get it published.

Now I am into commercial jets, especially the 757. That's the first one I ever rode on, and man, it was an experience.

Oh, and I am obsessed with Medicine Hat paint horses. I wish I had one. They're pretty cool looking.

Other than saying mostly highways in the Western US, I don't really have a favorite. I liked Utah State Route 128 from Interstate 70 down to US 191 near Moab, where it follows a river. Very lightly traveled and goes through spectacular scenery. Very colorful. second favorite would be Interstate 70 through the Glenwood Canyon in Colorado.

Other than roads, my current obsession is obtaining a second citizenship through ancestry with a nation over in Europe. I finally present my documents to find out if I'll be recognized next week. That was a VERY detailed process so it fit well with a person that can become obsessed with something.

After next week I may have to find a new special project.

Right now it's watching the cricket test series.

One obsession i've had for 2 years though, and still do, is serial killers and forensic science/psychology.

Currently, I'm obsessed over matches and matchboxes (the former more so); I'm sitting around lighting them up one after another. I'm so autistic.

That probably satisfies repetitive behaviours, parts of objects, and a narrow interest.

Crafts, Cross stitch, Tapestry and Lampshades.
Then,
David Eddings books ,Belgariad and Mallorean.
Then,
M&Ms, in the mid size pack. Counting the numbers of each colour. I still have to eat then in the 'right' order,
Green, yellow, orange, red, brown then blue.
Then,
Back to crafts, this time beading, necklaces and bracelets and also anklets.
Then
Crocheting, learned what I could, got frustrated because I didn't know where to get more knowledge from.
Then,
House plants.
Then,
Computers, I had to know what all the bit inside were. (Got on the net, a whole new world of knowledge out there)
Then,
Kids Horse book, mainly old British school girl stories.
Then,
Horse Colour Genetics.
Then,
Breeding Siamese Fighting Fish, (Betta Splendens), I couldn't get a license here to sell them.
Then,
Crocheting again, I found some great websites and taught myself alot an then got really into it and ended up with Carpal Tunnel in both wrists. I had the surgery nearly a year ago now.
Then,
Lustre Ware, old type ceramics and vases with an iridescent rainbow of colour over the glaze.
Now,
Learning all I can about Aspergers.

This list goes back 20+ years. I have an 'interest' for something and it will last 1 month up to several years.
I have lifelong interests too, Horses and watching people. I have been watching people and trying to work out why their interaction are 'successful' and what makes a 'normal' interaction.
I have watched and copied people for a hell of a long time.

When in doubt, ask an autistic. Chances are, they're obsessed with what you need to know.

Collecting the state coins, I have them all so far.

The anime Bleach (japanese version). I like the english version too but the japanese version is so much farther ahead.

The storylines for my video games. I've had many of these stories in mind for years.

Eurovision Song Contest since I was about 11, and as long as I can remember animals, but more specifically zoos. I designed my own based on a park near where I live, some days that's all I can think about and in the evenings I spend hours looking for pictures which could have been taken there if it were real. I save them and collect them so it's like I have an album of pictures taken in my zoo. i also really like flags and used to be obsessed with Royal families but not so much now.
