No, I just usually want to lay in my bed and be by myself until I'm well.

I usually demand people to stay away from me for two reasons...

1) When I'm ill I don't want to talk, nor have any social contact as it further stresses me.

2) I don't want to make others sick by giving them my germs.

Absolutely not. When I'm sick, I must be not touched in any way whatsoever.

I can't stand physical contact that is phony. It makes me feel awful.

I'd love a comforting hug from someone who meant it, though. I don't think I'll ever get one as long as I live.

A lot of the time, sick or not, I think that the idea of a hug would be nice - but it would have to be controlled to be exactly how I like it and how long. In reality, I am not sure that I have ever really enjoyed them, certainly not if they last more than a second or two.

When I am sick, I am on DO NOT DISTURB! Don't bug me, buzz me, ask me, etc.

Don't call me, I will call you.

Don't even think about pushing my stomach with your finger. Not cool.

I want people to leave me alone when I am ill... it is in their own best interest as I tend to get rather cranky when I am ill.

I prefer to be in control of my hugging. I have to prepare myself for receiving hugs and my kids have gotten used to the idea that they should ask for a hug if they want one; although my step-daughter still doesn't seem to get it.

Does anyone else feel like the person trying to hug you feels like barbed wire?

If I'm ill, a hug won't make me feel better. If someone insists on doing something for me when I'm ill, they're welcome to drop off some food for me, since I sure won't feel like cooking.

I don't enjoy being hugged, and I have only initiated hugs on rare occasions. If I know that an overly affectionate person is approaching me with intent to hug, I mentally prepare myself for the hug, and try to keep it as brief as possible. God help me if they're actually trying for a kiss instead, or in addition. I'm liable to clumsily end up engaged in an inadvertent head-butt! When people I don't know very well surprise me with a hug, and I have no time to prepare myself, I remain stiff and motionless until it is over.

Sometimes I appear to not like it and don't when I'm so involved in something like being on the computer and someone comes up to me and hugs me, butr then after when they leave I feel bad and want a hug and feel so lonely.
