Heather
My father

The two above are the ones I've conversed with in-depth.

I've been in the presence of many with autism and Asperger's (all ages), but since I don't talk to people I don't know..., though being in the presence of people is communication to me.

Lots - some diagnosed, some not - including some from here.

I seem to be an "aspie magnet", i.e. other aspies seem to gravitate towards me! Plus I get on with the people who are most like me, I suppose.

I suspect my nephew is an aspie, he is exactly like I was when I was his age. I also suspect my dad was but I can never know for sure now. Those are the only two I've met.

I've met about three or four people who I suspect of being aspies, two of them are familly or relatives, so it seems to be in the genetics.

I haven't met any "official" aspies though, so I can't really be sure.

One work colleague and one ex-work colleague, a female cousin whom I've only met once who I think might be an aspie, and all the aspies who went to Autscape in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

I can't tell an "aspie" from an "autistic person" by looking, so I'm counting everyone.

I'd say somewhere in the 100-300 range at least. Maybe, oh... 10 of which I actually know very well. And this is all the ones I know of, I understand there very well could have been more who were passing when I knew them.

I've never met any in real life as far as I know. I'd really like to meet an Aspie though, I think it would help me a lot.

I was greatly helped by meeting another autistic person on a one to one basis. We were able to make comparisons and talk freely. It was very special and I will never forget it.

Not including family, about 18 that I can remember who were either professionally or self-diagnosed. I've met more people though who I suspect are/were autistic as well but the subject never came up or to suggest such a thing would've been inappropriate (like professors, etc.).
