No, but then, I'm never happy for no reason either.

Depressed, no. I feel a whole lot of other things though.

Yeah I do.

I have depression that my doctor described as 'swinging changes'... I love that phrase for some reason...

He said to me, when he first saw me ages 13, that I seemed to have depression that could be brought on by anything...from watching the news, to seeing some kids being bullied, to a sad song on the radio...and, of course, the problems in my life too.

He said that I could be depressed and on medication, and then come out of my depression for a couple of months, and then become depressed again. He described it as one endless cycle, and against my parents' wishes he told me that it would happen all my life. Now, come to think of it, he should have listened to my parents... oh well!

I am depressed again right now after being fine for 6 months (so nice not to cry everyday, I tell you) and if you read my posts in The Haven you will find out why. I urge you not to though, they're awful!

i've gotten used to the idea that i'm not at all aware of my feelings until it hits a certain extreme. it's something i plan to pursue in therapy, actually, because it's really freaking inconvenient to feel neutral all day and then suddenly be a useless lump.
i can't figure that there is a lack of a trigger --- just that the trigger isn't clear, or i genuinely have alexithymia or something.

That happens to me! I could have something upsetting, react a little, but feel neutral until a petty little thing occurs then it all comes out...

My mom seems to be that way too... I could break bad news to her and she'd be calm, and then a few hours or days later then wham!

I wouldn't say depressed but I do get very melancholic at times for no apparent reason. I've always been like that.

i get sad sometimes because some sad memory would pop into my head not because of anything that was happening right then.

I guess I'm somewhat bipolar, so I flip between seeing the glass half-full and half-empty. There's always something in your life to be depressed about, and usually something to feel good about, too.

It's a part os being ASpie. Sometimes depressive moods just descend on me. I've learned to fight it off, but sometimes I still get overwhelmed and give in to drinking too much ....
