I've had ASP (awareness during sleep paralysis) a few times, it's scary as crap. Didn't seem like a UFO thing at all to me, I just had an OBE (out of body experience) and I could sense an evil presence in the corner of the room, even though I couldn't see anything there.
If you're really interested in all that paranormal stuff, I really recommend The Mothman Prophecies (the book), even though the few abductions in it are consentual...Idunno if I believe all of his theories, but it seems like he doesn't buy into them very much either...they all tend to circle around on each other, and by the end, you really know what he means when he quotes the old "the more we learn, the less we know". The movie downplayed most of it a whole lot, made it seem more like a ghost story or something.
