I tend to have the term racing thoughts which I LOVE I used it for writing research papers the Psychiatrist who I was dealing with at one time looked at me as if I was crazy (She says she likes it!!) Plus I use a different example.

I have the mind of the Energizer Bunny it keeps going and going and going and going and going..........

Oh my god...I thought I was the only one with a brain on steriods.

Nope. If anyone else has seen Dragonball Z before, my mind goes Super Saiyan. It won't shut down, and sometimes it goes so fast I can't do anything at all, I just physically freeze up while I zoom around the universe in my head.

I can't get to sleep at night because of this. My brain won't shut up.

Pot helps. 8) With a doctor's prescription, I mean.

Oh, and it's those times when I get huge sparks of original ideas and creativity. Too bad I fall asleep afterwords

That happens to me, too. I will get the best ideas and then fall asleep in the middle of the morning or afternoon for an hour or two. NTs can't do this. I think it's special and we should figure out how to use it to our advantage. Imagine if we could all get jobs where we just hyperthink, sleep, and feed the ideas to NTs...

All these are very good responses I did not know that I could actually use these experiences to my advantage I guess this really helps with writing. Even though I do not really like writing or reading I guess I could try that out. Thank you for all of the responses. If there are any other good ways to use this to your advantage please post a reply!! 8O

Yes, my thoughts race sometimes.
It interferes with my ability to sleep and sometimes I go without sleep for up to 3 days because my brain simply wont shut off. Sometimes, it even makes it hard to form coherant sentences and as soon as I start one sentence, I have another thought and start another sentence, so i'm trying to say two things at once and get all mixed up. It's confusing.
Sometimes it's like there are microscopic people inside my head, screaming, talking and laughing at the same time and it's REALLY loud. So loud that it seems to be coming from external sources, such as the neighbours, or television downstairs, but it never really is.

The only good thing about being in this state of mind is that I am actually not depressed, as for the most time, I am.

Its wierd for me because sometimes when I am speaking to myself in my head my thoughts and everything else around me seems to get speeding up really quickly has anyone experanced that do you know what that is? :?:

Speaking to myself in my head varies - sometimes it is absent. For me, it can be slow.

Sometimes it can be so slow that somehow I tend to temporarily turn it off.
