Butch-

I feel ya on the 'alternative' goth/punk/emo trends... They go to these stores which have 'original' looking black pants with chains and crap, which are probably made in some mass producing factory in Singapore, don some sort of 'dark' shirt, usually with some pale Lolita with a dead cat for a pet or some 'original' BS, spend effort and time putting on makeup to distinguish themselves from the 'preps' and then listen to whiny music about how 'My life is a living hell I bleed black crawl from the abyss' crap... I seriously DOUBT the 'artist' who makes the music (which sounds like every OTHER self-pitying band) actually has issues in his life to 'inspire' him to write the 'music,' as well as the people listening to it- if they have serious issues, I doubt they're going to listen to some stupid band complaining about how horrible their life is.

/rant.

I used to care to fit in as a kid so I tried my hardest to be like them but there were some things I would not give up. That was also another reason why I made fun of other kids. I wanted to be accepted and I thought people would see I was just as good as them and smart and accept me but it never worked. But when I was 14 I decided to be myself so I stopped copying other kids. After years of trying to be like everyone, I was never accepted so why bother.

I don't care to dress as the same fashion as everyone else or wear make up like the other women and be all trendy like them.

I still have my clothes from when I was in high school, few when I was in middle school. Most of them I got rid of because they got too big on me when I lost weight. Now I am done buying clothes because I have so many. But I still keep taking home free clothes whenever I see them.

I've never followed trends, really because 99% of the time, I think they're hideous.

In the UK right now, at least where I am, the current clothing trend is skinny jeans, with pumps and oversized coats with no shape to them. Am I the only one who absolutely cannot understand this trend at all? It makes people look so out of proportion. I thought fashion was about making you look good?

No, fashion is about conformity. Style is about making you look good.

I don't wear pumps or coats but the skinny jeans are nice.

where else can you get bright purple pants(and not be laughed at)?!

If you get the right size they are comfortable!

anytime people try to make me fit in I keep thinking of pod people.
"you must try to(be one of us)fit in more, or else you won't (become) be very popular"
