Kingdom of Rats and Age, sensory-pleasing cyber hugs to you both. I'm sad to hear you both feeling so down. We all feel at the end of it sometimes (even NTs) dealing with our various struggles. But hang on, things are ever changing and you are important and loved.

Cheer up Age1600! I think your down cos of your experience at college the other week. You have much to be proud of as you seem an intelligent, thoughtful and unique woman. Dont put yourself down for the things that make you yourself.

Dont forget that your "symptoms" become worse in stressful situations and the way your classmates were would make me very stressed also and as a result id be more fidgety and awkward and also my iq would drop tens of points.

are you going deaf because of the headbanging? yes?

you seem to have a hard time right now. Are your mother non-white and your father white?

just some questions, Im also suspecting perhaps 1 or 2 suicides in your extended family. (grandfather and so)

Not much I can do from here, but from the picture you posted you dont seem 100% white, therefore I asked about your mother....I hope thats ok.

Age,

I'm sad to hear you're having such a hard time right now. I had lots of fun hanging out with you in New York. Alex and I both think you're awesome! We hope to come back up to NJ this summer. One of the things I tell myself when I'm really low is that if you hit the bottom, you can only go up. So if this is one of the worst things you've ever felt, things can only get better. I know its kind of cheesy but it helped me sometimes if I could remember to think it! Also, I would just always remember that throughout life there are good times and bad times and neutral times. So when I'm feeling bad, I take a bit of comfort knowing it won't last forever, just because of the way the world works.

As for headbanging, I don't have any direct experience, but have you tried wearing cushy fluffy hats or a helmet? I mean just around your house. I know in the 18th century they used to make these hats for babies called pudding caps, to prevent them from "scrambling their brains into pudding" when they fell from learning to walk.

Ok you may think this is absolutely ridiculous, but they still make these things. Maybe you could get an extra-large?

I don't know if that sort of thing would actually help or not, but I'd probably relish the opportunity to buy a dorky padded hat. (I bought TONS of squish toys when I realized I could rationalize my purchases by saying they were to help me with sensory integration!)

Anyway, Age, I care about you and I hope you begin to feel better soon.
