People who do things like that lack empathy one of if not the most important quality a human being can have, it really disturbs me how more and more people seem to lack empathy these days.
People say one of the features of AS is a lack of empathy but I disagree. I find the opposite to be true. There's often more empathy and an inability to understand the reactions of others and what motivates them to act the way they act. The inability to
understand at first.
I notice in this forum many of us are trying to figure out the reactions of others and why some of them make an art out of trying to make us feel bad about ourselves for whatever reason. I notice some people do that on here too, with harsh criticisms of those with ASDs and the ways we respond because we are trying to figure others out, deal with unfair treatment and our own emotions and worries.
I think those with ASDs are better able to figure concepts like "empathy" out thus increasing an empathetic response and eventually learning to actually be
more empathetic than the average individual.
I think most bullies actually
have some sort of emotional connections to others. A surprisingly strong one, just somehow wrongly installed or ill.
To gain emotional joy or twisted pleasure out of hurting others, one must be somehow connected to other people and they must generate emotions in that bully. A feeling of power that is probably pleasurable or an 'emotional kick' to the bully or abuser.
I think that's like addition to sensation- and pleasure-seeking.
