It means we should never mess with him. He has lots of post-Veitnam angst, and will become a one-man army when hard-pressed. When captured, he will spout a lengthy rant about how his country doesn't love him anymore. Everyone can relate to this.

You want a war? I'll give you a war!!

there was a film called The Piano in which the main character was mute. I really identified with her (being mostly mute myself) and with the difficulties it caused her with other people. but in the film she has a daughter who she can gesture to and the girl speaks for her... I cried, I thought to myself "I want one of those! a talking child!" I mean, there's guide dogs for the blind, and all sorts of other assistance animals (even miniature horses!), so why can't I have a "talking child for the mute"? it would make my life so much easier!

[quote="spacemonkey"]Anyone ever seen "Buffalo 66?"

Buffalo 66 is one of my favorite movies-definitely a must see regardless of the aspie aspect. :lol:

I always liked 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas', no tbecause I think the main character has AS, but because I look a him and think 'man, if I can get to that level of weirdness I'd rule the autistic/AS world'. I also liked Depp's Jack Sparrow character and Willy Wonka; the man's a friggin genious of weirdness. maybe he has AS...............we can only hope 8)

Has anyone else seen Mozart and the Whale? It doesn't seem to be opening locally any time soon so I resorted to downloading it. The story was decent but I didn't like the way they were constantly explaining themselves (I do "X" because I have Asperger's) and the mannerisms of the female character were completely wrong. She looked about as NT as could be, even though her character supposedly had no interest in pretending to be normal.

Have you seen The Eighth Day? It's about someone who meets a guy with Down's syndrome, and it's funny at times and downright depressing at others. It's in French, but subtitles are available. Also, it seems pretty unique in that the actor playing the Down's guy actually has Down's.

I think Adam Sandlers character in Punch Drunk Love quite possibly has AS.
Also,Nick Cages character in Kiss of Death had quite a few odd quirks such as disliking the feel of metal in his mouth. Both characters are not exactly socially adept. 8O

Anyone see this old Humphrey Bogart movie called "The Caine Mutiny"? The main character seemed to have AS. He was a dysfunctional captain of a WWII destroyer.

It sets a good example.In First Blood someone who fought communism in SE Asia comes home to find its anti-individualist conformist anti-freedom `community` over the individual tenets practised at home by the local commisar.Unfortunately for him and the peoples army (National Guard) they get a good dose of what he gave the commies.The Rambo character in his complete lack of feminine characteristics is very Aspie indeed.Thats why hes not liked by pseudo aspies and NTs.
