I have 3 of the puzzle magnets(one on each side and the back) 2 license plate holders front and back and the "Warning occupant w/ autism sticker" on the back window. My whole car is trying to make people aware. If I could get a puzzel paintjob I would, (that would look cool I think)
It does seem to open a dialog at the gas pumps for sure. Plus when she waves to people they wave back more readily it seems. I haven't seen any other ones here, but someone did steal the one on the back of my car a few months ago, so maybe they'll use it for a good cause. :D

If you were driving when you did this then that is very dangerous behavior. Drivers should have their eyes on the road and full attention to driving not showing of their cell phone to other drivers and biting it.

Uhm I think you don't realize that NT's smile when they are laughing inside at someone thinking how absurd they are. They are thinking to themselves that the sticker is a joke or stupid.

Personally I think advertising that you are an autistic driver is asking for some gangsta punk to attack you. I know punks look for handicap stickers on cars to see who is "easy game" just like in the wild when wolves watch to see who is the weakest prey in the herd of deer. Advertising to strangers that you are not in full mental capacity leaves your life in jeopardity.

Unfortunate that others can be mean to those who have any disability, like making fun of autism bumper stickers - how crass! But, reality...sigh.

I think it's GREAT that some locales are cosmopolitan and progressive enough that autism stickers can be shown without fear of retribution, which is as it should be! Utopia.

Where I live there I do know of some positively miserable individuals (certain neuro/psych professions, for instance) that would be NASTY with regard to showing an autistic symbol - sad. Therefore, I would be very afraid to ever show any autistic symbol in the general public. I just cannot. I cannot show any outward sign of autism - other than just myself, of course! This is very disheartening and a sad commentary on rampant ignorance by others.

I did have a neuro/psych profession actually harrass me and the situation became out of control. I had an advocate who had to call the police for restraining order (I never imagined anything like this could even happen - it did). To advertise autism where I am would be inviting discrimination, maybe even harassment or abuse.

It seems in Florida one out of about 10 drivers has them. I usually don't do anything, just wonder who's inside....

I see these everywhere. I'm thinking of getting one - not for myself, as I'm not diagnosed, but because I'm really close to a boy who has autism.

That's very thoughtful! I wish there were more like you - thank you.
