[quote="Mw99"]If I were religious, I'd probably blame my thoughts on the devil.
I was watching a movie with a friend when I noticed that my friend had a smile on his face, because, obviously, he was having a good time. Instead of feeling glad for him for being happy, a few nasty thoughts, which I won't mention here, passed through my mind. I immediately decided not to entertain those thoughts and did my best to share my friend's moment of joy.
But why did the nasty thoughts pass through my mind? Why?
quote]
i dont think this is unnatural.
it is a human need to make a connection with someone, and in time it is a human need to manipulate this connection.
AS are humans too and we usually fail in the first step, to make that connection. even thou we try and often fail repeatedly until we give up.
But it is not unusual for people to WANT TO manipulate this connection.
from an anthrolpological view this is due to human being social animals and coming together for the good of the tribe, people connect and communicate to build and maintain a structured society, and in time various individuals become good at making and further manipulating this connection for their own needs, it is this manipulation of connection that infuriates and alienates most As , as we see this as manipulation of us and we are quite sensitive to it.
the point being it isnt abnormal for all humans to want to make a connection and then manipulate it for the good ( or perceived good)) of the observer.
so rather than be as good as we can be, and work hard and gather all the wealth we can for ourselves and out families, when we see others with the same wealth or more than us, we may have a natural tendency to manipulate this status quo and try and reduce the wealth of the other.
