I'm good at hiding my stimming. Sometimes it does come out though. I remember hanging out with my two friends during lunch, and I started rocking back and forth really fast, one of them was like "what the **** are you doing!?" and they started laughing. They didn't know I'm Autistic.

I don't have meltdowns that often anymore, because I've learned to control myself better. I've also learned better social skills, and I've improved my posture, walking style and so on. I never stim in public anymore (apart from the compulsive finger snapping). In short terms I look less autistic than I used to.

It has been a fairly long time since I had a meltdown...

I don't really talk to myself. And I like to talk so I seem quite social for an aspie.

I've trained myself to do eye contact now, after someone told me I didn't make eye contact and it appeared rude. But I have this clever trick where if I need to speak to someone I make sure I go beside them rather than facing them so I don't need to do eye contact, because I don't really feel that comfortable locking eyes with someone.

Otherwise I tick all the boxes; clumsy, socially awkward, inappropriate, has no volume control, bad posture, obsessions, phobias, doesn't get sarcasm, bursts into song in public and suchlike, has weird phobias such as cold savoury food :x

I don't flap my hands. I do constantly rub them or pop them and stretch my fingers out but I don't think people notice it that often.

And my eyesight and hearing are both awful, so the sensitivity or whatever isn't true because of it. Too many indoor drumline sessions to have decent hearing. I have permanent damage; my ears ring at night when it's deathly quiet 8O

I don't stim much. I do this thing with my fingers but it's not noticeable or at least nobody has ever said anything about it. I used to sit on my hands back in school to keep myself from doing it. I do rock and rotate within myself but it doesn't show up externally.

I can be fine with small talk, as long as it's pretty basic or doesn't go on too long.
I have really good hearing, but I don't recall having sensory problems in the past. Even now, the only time sounds bothers me is if I'm tired or concentrating on something.
I don't know enough about stimming to comment.

Wahey, something positive:

- I don't flap my hands, and never have done.
- I don't stim in public.
- My eye contact is okay. It can still be worked on, but I don't have a problem looking people in the eye unless I'm really overloaded or stressed.
- I don't have meltdowns.
- I understand sarcasm some of the time, but I still sometimes take jokey comments seriously. I also use sarcasm at times, but usually for humourous effect rather than out of malice.
- I can control my obsessions, or shall we say, 'special interests.' Over the last few years, my obsessions have generally become long-term interests. I've been trying to build up knowledge around a few fields instead of having random obsessions about anything.
- I don't monologue about obscure and random topics. Actually, I don't monologue at all.

I can read facial expressions and tone of voice, and don't have difficulty with non-literal language.

"Lack of an imagination".

I've always had a very active imagination. Although, I've noticed that my imagination is only active in regards to my obsessions; trying to be creative in any way outside of that is very difficult.

Unless somebody has already been told I have AS they don't seem to notice anything unless I get stressed out. When I'm not under stress, I seem like an NT except that I always have to be doing something and sometimes have a small problem talking correctly.
