But generally the HP series which is about adventures of a teen boy was meant for kids, his peers and it was later when the series gained such popularity, reading it became fashionable among all age groups.

Playing table-top Role-Playing Games, especially Traveller ("Science-Fiction Adventure In The Far Future").
Watching cartoons on Saturday morning.
Climbing trees, just for the fun of it.
Model Railroading (more than just "Toy Trains").

Is that the reason why the books got more complexed? They got harder for me to follow starting with book 4. I couldn't comprehend what was going on in the story but the first three I followed well.

Well let's see...not only do I watch anime but I also have a collection of "UFO catcher" dolls from Japan; you can see them in the background of the photo I posted of myself on one of the forums here.

Small countries tremble in fear if I miss a WWE PPV

I wouldn't call my interests in human rights, languages, politics, history and geography immature. I would call them way too mature for my age. 8)

I love watching cartoons.
I like many teen movies/serials.
I like playing with Lego.
I like plush animals and I play with them or put them in spontaneous places or hold them for fun or comfort.
I read Donald Duck magazines a lot.
I like children's books.
I love the slides at swimming pools.
I like coloring pictures.
I'm seriously considering buying some small boat to play with in the bathtub.

Those are the ones that come to mind first, but I'm sure some other interests of mine would be considered immature by others.

Rowling was forced to put a bit more mature topics into the books to make them more interesting for all age groups when she realized how popular her novels became. But the reason for growing complexity of HP novels is not caused only by interest among those who had already left childhood or even their teenage years: Harry wasn't getting any younger so his problems had to be more mature and of course, there's also an issue of Voldemort and Harry's preparation to the final fight so the atmosphere of novels was getting more and more dark.

I like building sand castles. I also like reading Dr. Seuss books and similar ones (like P.D. Eastman's Go Dog Go.) I like some kids movies, though most of the ones I like have double entendres intended for adults (i.e the vast majority of Disney movies, as well anything by Looney Tunes). On a similar note, I like Sesame Street episodes from the 70s and early 80s (watching more recent Sesame Streets I realized the neighborhood's changed to much, and OMFG is Elmo annoying!)

I don't think teetotaling is immature, but in my experience it is horrible. If I had more regular access to cannabis, I might smoke that more and drink alcohol less, as it seems to have somewhat fewer side effects. But, in any case, a life without regular use of some mind altering substance is not a life I want to live.

Sometimes I watch Star Trek TAS and Planet of the Apes TAS I have on DVD. Have been interested in coin collecting on and off(though I don't know if that is an "immature interest"). Video games once in a while(on my computer). Popular rock songs during the 70s I listened to as a teenager. Trying to make cool videos on YouTube. Computer technology and website design. Maybe some of these are more like young adult interests.

I can't think of any "immature" interests that I might have. All my interests are appropriate to my age, except maybe for my goofy sense of humour.

I wouldn't say if this is really an "interest" but when my daughter watches "Dora the Explorer", I admit I enjoy the show and watch it with her.. I mean its one thing to watch a show with your child because your child enjoys it.. but I actually enjoy it
