I'm good at saving money as my wages go directly to my bank account. I usually withdraw about $80/week to cover my lunches and personal items.
Any other expenses such as clothes, petrol and car repairs, get paid for with my ATM card via EFTPOS.
I have an interest earning investment account which I put money into every month or so, when my regular transaction account starts to accumulate too much money.
I am however really bad at managing my loose change. As a result of my $80/week there is always loose change left over in my handbag, and it accumulates there until my bag gets too heavy. I then dump it all in a container in my room where it sits until eternity

hi, blue_bean,
what is EFTPOS? they seem pretty nice to foot the bill for clothes, gas and car repairs!

I'm always being told by so-called "friends" that I am very "high maintenance"...and only like nice things...I feel differently. I go their houses and they have every ridiculously stupid thing that has ever been made...my mother is the same...My house is as simple as it gets. I have the bare necessities and maybe a couple of decorative stuff, but very little...When I go shopping I will buy a lamp and say, "wow, it's only 35USD"...and my family will make fun of me and say "and you think that's cheap???" Of course, I do...Of course, I am constantly being told I'm a snob, yet you look in my closet and I have probably 8 pairs of shoes (max) and two pairs of jeans, abou 3-4 shorts, and a only about 3 nice dresses and 3 everyday dresses...Mind you, I buy what I like, but I'm still told I'm a snob because I buy "expensive" things...
Anyway, I used to be really good with money, not so much anymore as I spend so much on my son...
Now, I can't seem to plan anything...I just pay things as they come if I have the money...hehe

I'm guessing EFTPOS is electronic funds transfer point of sale. That means blue_bean uses his/her debit card to pay for things. Funds get electronically transferred from his/her bank account to the store.
