In crowded public places i tend to fidget repeatedly and find it hard to find a comfortable stance

That goes for cologne, too, and air "freshener", and all of those other poisonous things known in America as "fragrance".

What on earth are people thinking? It is one thing to smell clean, but what is the deal with spraying oneself all over with chemical approximations of "fruit" and "flowers", as if that toxic waste smells anything like those things. Bah!

The UK has begun banning a lot of the stuff because it is so toxic, and it triggers migraines and asthma in so many people, and Canada is well-known for fragrance-free policies, but the US is way too in love with the chemical industry to rock their big stinking boat.

I find perfume in restaurants (can't even remember the last time I went to one of those ... maybe a year ago) TOTALLY inconsiderate.
I'd rather sit next to a smoker or a farter - though not next to both, due to the fire hazard. :D

Don't flame me, this is a legit question, OAO - but does anyone ever comment on your use of the third person in verbs, rather than the first ?

I ask because in another thread, we were discussing this particular issue - and someone commented that it's a not uncommon issue with a number of Autie kids.

Do you think it's a relic from that time in yourself ?

Again, no disrespect but genuine curiosity.

I don't like over stimulation either and HATE waiting. I always carry a book in case that situation should arise, hope that suggestion helps. :D and I also wanted to add LOL just to piss you off.

LOL

I always take a smartphone and iTouch so I've got something to read.

To really loud places with really annoying noise sources, I take my Bluetooth earpiece to listen to internet radio over the smartphone.

It's great.
It's my conduit to a more relaxing world that preserves my sanity in this one.

If you really want to deter people from interrupting your exciting internal dialog then I recommend taking it a step further by wearing ear muffs and argue with yourself. It's fun!

Make it a Bible, if you're really serious and just want to continue with the uninterrupted internal dialogue. There is no social barrier like pretending to read the Bible. Do not have a little laughing fit while pretending to read the Bible.

Crowd of people = just too much. Not too much anything in particular, just too much. I think I have the same reaction to a crowded place that others have to a swarm of insects. People swarm for me. (It's not that I consider myself better than other humans - it's just the psychological reaction. There's a kind of menace to crowds.) It's particularly bad when they're all moving in different directions, like at a station, and I have to work my way through the crowd. Other people seem to have an intuitive grasp of where someone else is moving to, and how to work their way in with other people, but I don't. I have to calculate all the different trajectories and fit myself in, and it's very tiring. Loud noises, humidity, drunkenness (in others - I don't drink) and screaming children make it worse.

Does he have a brother? No, wait -- how about an older uncle? SWM, rational, not too much baggage, no recent open wounds, financially stable (need not be too "comfortable")... Politically open-minded, education minimum BA. Looks are irrelevant but he's gotta be tall...

About the only things about crowds that irritate me, are those who bump on you because they don't pay attention where they're going, and those in cues that try to sneak in because they don't want to wait for their friggin' turn. I reserve my “looks than could kill” for them.

I suppose if I'm brutally honest, the only thing that really annoys me about crowds is the people.

Hm I never even noticed I did that. To me it looks like everyone else's posts except for some grammatical errors. In this particular post I listed things I didn't like and I stuck to a lemotife, sorta. I don't normally communicate in the third person if that's what you're hinting at and I consider myself to be a versatile writer. Also, I am not HFA I have Asperger's so I am really only slightly autistic which is why, I am sure some of you notice, I can get passionate in my posts sometimes. I apologize for this
