No, the autism/vaccine link has not been laid to rest. Has anyone here read of the research, I believe it was in Switzerland, that found that baby monkies got autism-like symptoms from the level of thimerisol in a standard vaccine load? Have you not noticed the two "trial" cases in Vaccine Court that were conceded WITHOUT trials by the medical establishment? Just because a poorly put together studies where they carefully eliminated the children most likely to show a link, didn't show a link, it doesn't mean the evidence is actually valid. My aunt has her PhD in Microbiology and I'm going to ask her what she thinks of the research conducted on this matter. (Since she doesn't have a child with autism, I think she won't be biased one way or another and I trust her intelligence to figure out if it's a good study, or simply one that produced the results wanted.) C'mon people, do a little questioning before you accept what the so-called "scientific" community is trying to sell you. Half of these are the same people who claimed for years that there was no "proof" that cigarettes or asbestoes caused cancer!

I agree that autism is not a disease but there are some quantified brain-gut or biochemical responses in a lot of people on the spectrum. It begs the question of how beneficial strategies such as the gluten-free/casein-free diets are.

In my experience its a waste of money and time to go on a GFCF diet. Doesn't work for me and it certainly did nothing for my son.

Quite a few Aspies have posted in the parents forum that cutting out gluton made them feel better, less foggy. So, for some, at least that part of the diet can have some benefit. And some people really are sensitive to milk products. These types of diet changes are not going to be a cure for being on the spectrum, but they may help with some relatively common related conditions for certain people on the spectrum. The concept shouldn't be tossed out in it's entirety, just reviewed carefully and put into its parts to help decide who might find it worth a try.

I tried deleting some out of my diet for alittle bit, and that was one of the times i went from 98lbs to 89lbs in over a week, because i slowly stopped eating altogether, everybody told me to just forget trying it, see no results anyways and i was getting deathly sick. I can agree i didnt give it enough time but it was more money, more time consuming, more differcult and it just wasnt a good idea for me. I also had myself tested for gluten and casien, no allergies to either.

THe same thing happened to me back when i was 10 mom tried the diet on me. wound up in the hospital being fed by IV for 10 days. the diets are a load of crap for me. in fact, i felt even worse on the damn diet than i did off of the damn thing!

When in doubt, ask an autistic. Chances are, they're obsessed with what you need to know.

YOU are obsessed with conpiracists..

you want to know what I think?.. Assuming you know what the Illuminati is by now, it's easier that way..
I call it the double sided coin trick.. If the illuminati tell the public that vaccines MAY cause autism, then what do people do?.. SOME people will stop giving their babies the vaccine, and therefore open them up to other diseases.. this is a real easy way to cause famine and death, potentially..
OR people will continue giving it to their babies while there is also a chance of poisoning.. not necessarily autism.. this is the distorted game that they can play with people.. If they say it causes autism, and people know better than to believe that, then they continue taking a vaccine which could actually cause worse things than autism.. Mercury IS damaging to the human body, and while it may not cause autism, that doesn't mean it doesn't cause somethign else, so you put the thought out of your mind and go PHEW..

true story, my mom and a guy she worked with refused to get a Flue shot at her workplace, because the boss said it was mandatory for everyone... well, everyone who took it got the flue, and her and the guy that didn't take it, didn't get the flue.. because flue shots are not healthy, as well as most vaccines are not.. I like natural health, not artificial health..

Are you saying that flu shots cause the flu??? I know that is not right, because the flu shot don't use active viruses, instead the use inactive ones that can still cause an immune response. If you get the flu after getting a flu shot then it means you already had it in your system.

By the way it is bloody scary they are still using mercery in vaccines, mind you that I think stuff like the measles are much more dangerous to your well being.

I don't know what they put in flu shots, but I just told you that's a true story.. so you make of it what you would like, but I dont believe in flue shots, I dont i dont i dont..

If you are going to argue with them, point them to the wikipedia MMR controversy and thermosil talk pages. There's some pretty good quotes there, and they prove, no matter how many surveys are out there, the the majority of scientist see no link.

The Mercury Militia are rather crazy. I knew one guy who wouldn't accept stats from the CDC and "pharmaceutical puppets" but accepted statist from DAN. Because, y'know DAN doesn't have any agenda, or anything.

I dont care really if mercury causes autism.. mercury causes other things, it's not safe to have in your body.
