If I'm on the stick and I can clutch the whole, EJECT! EJECT! EJECT! thingy with bone breaking hands, I'm ok. Naturally, they tend to keep "crazy" people away from these planes, so I don't have to care whether I'm cool with it or not.

Now, being shuttled in a flying bus with people and an air marshal who's about to drop the hammer on anyone who doesn't make eye contact, no god damned way unless it's very, very, merry very freaking important.

the only thing that bothers me about flying is that when the plane is descending all the babies start crying like mad, and of course there's always a freakin baby sitting somewhere close to me LOL.

apart from that I don't really like the dry air, makes my eyes feel like they're about to get all dried out like raisins.

And at some points I fly/ride with my pilot who is over 85 ,most piolts are 60 and over. I have been at or above mach. 5.0 and been turned upside down more than five times.

that sounds great, being able to be free in the sky,as close to being like a bird as can get.

am have trouble flying,in that have never been able to,council had done risk assessments on am to do with flying and say its too much high risk and am wouldnt cope, because of high possibility of meltdowns-injuring others through that, profound hyperacusis and sensory.. etc, have wanted to go to Canada in the winter for a long time.

that seems to be an unwritten law for anywhere,'always make sure there is a higher amount of screaming children [or drunk adults] to each autist, and are close by for maximum effect'.

I hate the change in cabin pressure as you rapidly change altitude.....feels like my eyes are gonna pop out.
I've only been on a small plane (20 seats)

I love to fly. In fact I used to fly planes like Cessna 150 and 172's. I stopped because I flew during 9/11 and there was no chance of being hired as an airline pilot, and two, I was close to soloing and I was too scared. I knew how to take off perfectly and fly the plane in the air but landings were hard for me for some reason. The last time I flew a plane was in either 2002 or 2003. I want to have a few more flying lessons but not to get my pilot's license. I even took the written test in 2002 and got like 98%, the highest in my class. I don't think anyone got 100%. I was in flight school at a local college, they had a flying class. I miss those days where I would fly the planes or even be a passenger while someone else was flying it (another student). Its like driving, you sometimes take turns flying. We land and switch seats. Since I am doing so well maybe they will let me have a flying lesson (probably next year sometime because the weather will start to get bad). By next year I will also have more money because flying lessons are expensive! Believe it or not, I am female.

Flying, like in an airplane, That's OK, Me I like getting out of an airplane. I have taken off over 1200 times, only landed in them like 20 times.
Worst is sitting in that same plane for 90 minutes only going halfway and having to jump out because the pilot ran out of fuel, fortuanatly the dz was close by.

Once I am up in the air, no. In the airport yes. I am constantaly worried about TSA pulling me over and strip searching me or confensgating something special to me because I might seem "off". I also worry about the plane having to make an emergency landing and not being allowed to take my carry-on with me. I used to have panic attacks when we had fire drills on the schoolbus and was not allowed to take my backpack.

I hate flying commercially, over crowding, recycled air, bad food, just having to sit next to people for five or six hours. I don't have a problem flying with my dad in his plane..

I used to love flying. Even though I'm afraid of heights, being in an airplane never bothered me. Since my rheumatism got bad, however, I hate flying. When you're sensitive to changes in barometric pressure, flying is not fun. Also, I could never tolerate how the TSA treats airline passengers. If I ever need to travel, it will be by bus, train, or boat.

for me it's my ears that pop and it hurts...have to yawn constantly and chew gun often...I had to deal with that to a certain extent when taking the elevator up and down the Sears Tower earlier this month, but I managed to yawn to keep it from getting to 'hurt' simply 'annoying'....next time I'm going to bring ear oil or something next time I fly.

EDIT: and I live flying my X-wing in battle against the Imperials :P

It just depends. I wouldn't be allowed on a plane right now, but I flew to spain and back without problem - can't remember the way back but the way there I was too excited to sleep and overall teh flights took about 24 hours and I didn't have much sleep the day before.

When I came back from edmonton my ears wouldn't pop and it was miserable until I returned to normal

I love flying, especially if I get a window seat and can watch the clouds. I only hate when there is considerable turbulence, but I've never been so traumatized by the experience that I wouldn't fly again. One aspect I dislike, is when it's a fairly small, commuter plane, and the first moment of claustrophobia nearly takes over. :?

I love flying...really love it - I even enjoy turbulence (crazy, I know). I need to have a window seat though, or I feel claustrophobic.
