My birth was a C-section and I came out feet first.

Anemone, I had rather thick hair down the middle of my back. I certainly don't have it now but it always made me think of the issue of malnutrition because Anorexics' grow hair on their body which is believed to be a mechanism to help keep them warm, if I'm not mistaken. And, likewise, malnutrition could also be a contributing factor.

Your link also says it's a sign of "premature birth". Mine wasn't premature that I know of and obviously something wasn't functioning the way it was typically supposed to.

Where's the "no" option?

I was born 6 days late and like Aspieartist, I too was born black and blue due to the fault of a nurse, and had to be worked on immediately after birth. I don't know if I was actually dead or not, but I often wonder if this is the reason for my AS.

My son inhaled meconium at birth and was blue, but was given oxygen right away and put in the NICU. We don't know if that is why he is under the spectrum or if its genetics... no one will ever really know.

So are you trying to suggest that premature births and significant oxygen deprivation, for example, at birth isn't a cause of Autism?

No, no, just that having body hair at birth is normal. The rest of it could tip you over into autism, if you had the genetics.

Do you have any qualifications for your apparent expertise? I wouldn't guess you have any more qualified answers than anyone else on the issue, and all thoughts here are merely hypothetical, including your own.

Sometimes it is good to ask a simple question and to see what the outcome of it is. Sometimes answeres are stumbled apon. But you can never know unless asked.

i was actually born nearly a whole month late! i was due july 2nd...but doc's decided to get out me out july 29th

I was born right on time, according to my parents.
