Well, if you need any help or need to ask your main character any questions, I'm always available.

i doubt you'd want to be him, though - he comes to a bit of a sticky end... 8O

Um, I can't stand by my bed too long (it hurts my armpits with the crutches.

It doesn't bother me about sticky ends. What happens to him, does he drown in a vat of caramel? Mmm...

Excellent stuff, one of my many pointless trades is being a civil engineer and I specialise in when big things go bad (ie collapse, explode) so I love that stuff.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_characters_from_The_Simpsons

Man there's a lot of characters on the show.

Many of the characters in the Simpsons take their names from important people and places in Groening's life:

Lisa – Lisa Groening (Matt Groening's sister)
Marge – Marge Groening (his mother)
Homer – Homer Groening (his father and one of his sons). Trivia: A character in the 1939 novel The Day of the Locust, by Nathanael West, is coincidentally named Homer Simpson.
Maggie – Maggie Groening (one of his sisters)
Bart – an anagram for "brat", a reference to Groening himself and to Dennis the Menace
Abraham – picked at random by writers for The Simpsons, but coincidentally was the name of Matt Groening's grandfather

Anyone famous suffer from it?

Hannibal Lecter (in the books) was polydactyl -- six fingers on each hand (or five if you're one of those thumb-haters). I would have liked to see some complex prosthetics on Anthony Hopkins in the movies, but maybe that's asking a bit much.

Edit: already on the list. OBSOLETE'D!

Yeah I knew that about Hannibal too, thanks for posting in the thread.

When I'm on wikipedia I'll look up something on one subject, then go to another and via a series of tangents will arrive at something truly interesting.

Today, fun with numbers kids.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Number_of_the_Beast_%28numerology%29

Did you know? (some worthless observations)

* The numbers on a roulette table (1 to 36) sum to 666
* The fear of the number 666 is known as "Hexakosioihexekontahexaphobia".
* 6.66, One Hundredth of the Number of the Beast is the name of the only song by the fictional Australian rock band Salmon Hater.

And more fun with numerology:

Have fun kids!

This might help her out:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia

Wikipedia (pronounced as either [ˌwiˑkiˈpidi.ə] or [ˌwɪki-], also [-ɐ]) is a multilingual Web-based free-content encyclopedia. It is written collaboratively by volunteers, allowing articles to be added or changed by anyone with an internet connection. The project began on January 15, 2001 as a complement to the expert-written Nupedia, and is now operated by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation. The English-language version of Wikipedia currently has more than 835,000 articles. Wikipedia has steadily risen in popularity,[1] and has spawned several sister projects, such as Wiktionary, Wikibooks, and Wikinews. Wikipedia is widely considered as the alternative to commercial encyclopedias.
