Its pretty obvious that most of the posters in this thread never bothered to read beyond the title

I know a guy from this site, who is obsessive about wanting to know from me, why I say that we have nothing in common. I never tell him, so he would beg in a different way. I finally told to "STOP EMAILING ME" and he did. Would you say that this is a case in which obsession didn't pay?

Nah I'd just say how about you start your own thread on the subject instead of trying to insert your subject into the thread subject that obviously isn't about that.

I swear I just read 15 new posts and they were all from you saying the same thing. Obsess much?

Personally, I get the impression its WW who won't leave him alone even though he's ignoring her.

If it was that he just won't drop the issue, why is she the one posting about it in every single thread here where its never related to the topic at hand? 34 posts so far today and every one of them mentions him. If she didn't want to see him she wouldn't be so overly obsessed with talking about him.

Do you agree?

Ps I also love how she met this annoying man on this site a while ago, but only joined here yesterday. :P

To me, there's far more to "paying" than how much funds one draws from such; if one draws happiness from their obsession, isn't that being paid?

I can't really choose what my special interest becomes, or how long it lasts. Some of mine have been really good, like I became obsessed with 500-1000 piece puzzles that took me only two hours. But some of mine have been bad, like the Excorcist.

Just respond with "Yes, but what about useful aspie obsessions?" :P

Some are just hobbies and stuff... now - a useless obsession is mental distress with intrusive thoughts. Those are nasty. That's a useless obsession right there.

An obsession that's really no one elses business is performing perhaps slightly unusual routines within a day... that can be useful for the aspie - if it helps them to feel satisfied.

Useful obsessions would be over obsessing on your favorite subject perhaps... be it maths, music, or whatever.

Something like that...
