YES I become anxious if I am late or worse if someone who I am meeting is late! I hate anything that is late and I get anxious and upset if I am waiting at a dr's office for a long, long time...and I am also always, almost always too early!

I hate being late I cop with it by telling family members (since I still can't drive) that things start half and hour earlier than they do, usually landing me at 5-10 minutes early.

I tend not to be late. Always 30 - 10 minutes early. However, there are exceptions to the rule. I tend to oversleep alot. I don't run late getting to school, just later than I'd like. I will tend to walk in late to a class if I am with the group of friends who always walk in late. I do however almost always walk out from them and into class 10 minutes early for no reason at all than to be early.

One thing I hate more than anything, is waiting for someone when I am early, and they are late. I get over it pretty quick, but still, its hard to deal with the waiting.

lateness or even the notion that i'm behind "schedule" throws off my routine. i set the clock in my bedroom 30 minutes ahead and also use my cell phones alarm if i have/want to be up early. oh and i like to get to work early so that i can "ready" myself for the day.

Most of my life, I would have mini-panic attacks if I knew I was going to be late for something, or if I forgot to do homework. Ever since I've started college however, I've let myself go a little. It isn't rare for me to be a few minutes late to a haircut appointment or work (luckily, they don't mind). I'm not sure what happened to me that caused this change.

This thread surprises me. I thought I once read somewhere that aspies have a poor understanding of time and don't understand when people are upset when they are late. Clarification anyone?

Applicable when younger, as routines were harder to move on from, wouldn't keep up with dates or days of the week, class did that for me :) In adulthood the need to avoid being late came about from past consequences, perfectionism and a general will to get started and get it over with.

Same for me, when something is late (the bus, my parents, myself etc. ), a VOLCANO erupts right in the front of people, classmates...
I hate being late or waiting, especially if this person is late, I can't help it, and the consequences of going crazy in front of people, is, you all know, being rejected, but that's not the only element that causes my rejection.

Pretty much the same with me. I cope with it a little better now than I used to, though. I used to go into panic mode, which would quickly turn into a full on meltdown until the last couple years if I even thought I even might be late somewhere.

I think some of my extreme reaction was due to having parents that had no concept of punctuality. They're the 'we'll get there when we get there' type of people. As a consequence, I was late to almost every single event in my childhood.

yes, I hate being late, that's why I try to come earlier but if I'm still late I don't panic very much. I'm always trying to be earlier so if I'm late it's usually not my fault

I always check the time in very short intervals whenever I need to get to somewhere or do something.

In fact, I always want to be early even if its half an hour early. I find it much more comfortable being early than being late!
