One month late still make the risk of poisioning the child very high, most doctors won't let any woman go more than 14 days over time. One month still gives your mother the great ablities of a clever politician.

I was due in early February, but I came on January 4
But if I came in February, that would mean that all of my mom's children were born in February! My oldest brother was born February 12, the middle one was born on February 18, and I came in last in January, due February.

Tony Attwood mentions in his book (The complete guide to Asperger's Syndrome) that there seems to be some connection with premature birth and autism, with higher rates of premature birth being seen with autism. However that is the only connection so far, they don't really know why, and there are certainly many autistic children who are born at the normal time.

My Mum had a cesarean otherwise I'd never come out. My birth was difficult too, the doctors said I would be a stillborn.
My sister was 2 months premi, but hardly showed any signs of autism.

I was 2 weeks late. I was supposed to be born on July 8th but came out on July 18th instead.
So not quite 2 weeks, it was ten days.

Im not sure if i was on time or not, all i was told is that i was in an incubator and almost died due to my asthma when i was about a month old.

Could be more to this story for all i know, not like they would ever tell me anyways.

i wasnt born prematurally but i did have to be cut out of my mom because of fetal distress, the duration was 10 minutes i believe. 1 minute longer and i would have been wearing a bib at all times!!

Yeah!. Now I understand your condition, but now, I want to know how this could be fixed? Did these lymf.. etc.. fix itself with only time to help? It just needed time, or you had to undergo serious re-construction of your lymf.. system?
If you was born when I was born, you probably would not have this conversation with me at all.
God bless you!

I'm not exactly sure what they did, but I did go under pretty intense surgeries as an infant as a result of the condition and have scars all over my upper torso. I know they had to redirect the lymphatic fluid. I wish I had more information to share on the subject.

Diffucult birth too (breech baby). I wonder what the effect of a stressfull birth is on the brain... I read somewhere that the most traumatic human experience is going through the birth process

I was due on the 21st December and didn't show my face until 2nd January. My mother also had a difficult labour with me and I ended up as an emergency Caeserean (sp?) after showing signs of "distress". I have heard, however, of people claiming that difficult births can have something to do with it, but to be honest, I don't know =]

just trying to pin something to it. Seems to me that premature birth is not the issue, but a stressfull birth?
Don't quite know.
