i typically listen to the same song five times before i'm comfortable hearing it. i try not to do this when others are around because they start to complain. i become frustrated with them. i like to dissect the song and fully understand what it's about. i get annoyed with people when they love a song but don't know what it's about. why not just listen to the beat by itself you like so much?

Was it "Radar Love" perhaps? (Perking up my antennae... :alien:)

Man, some tunes are just pedal-to-the-metal roadworthy!

I have a great deal of songs that I will listen to OVER and OVER and OVER. I just don't get tired of them.

Hey! I've played that Rick Astley song for a 4 hour road trip to Orlando. "Never gunna give you up, never gunna let you down, never gunna turn around and hurt you."

Sure I do. When ever I hear something I REALLY enjoy. But I do that when I'm all by myself at home.

The ballad of Bonnie and Clyde...I could listen to for hours....same with Ravel's Bolero. I used to have in on LP, so it was the entire side of the record, and my record player would automaticly start it over, and I would put it on every night to go to sleep and it would still be playing when I woke up.

Sometimes I want to, but I don't because then it sort of 'wears a groove' and it's not unexpected any more and therefore it has no effect.

Yes, sometimes I even play a particular part of a song over and over again, and I get agitated and am resentful if someone or something interrupts during that part of the song.
Also if anyone interrupts while I am listening to a whole song, even one I am not repeatedly listening too, I need to start the song at the beginning again (which is difficult when it's being played on the radio and I do not own a copy).

That song was my X-boyfriend's all time favourite (it might still be, I have not seen or heard from him in years).

I thought I was the only one who did this!

I have listened to the same song for hours straight, until the day is up. And then the next day, I wake up and listen to it all day.
I will not get tired of it for some time, then all of a sudden, I get tired of it, then it happens with a new song, and I will do the same thing over and over again!

I used to do it. Now I'll maybe listen to a piece I really like 2 or 3 times in a row, and then come back to it later, so I won't burn it out really fast. I usually listen to it a second or third time if I'm having a really cool mental image to it and I want to refine it in my mind or have more ideas for it.

Yeah, I usually have a favorite song I would listen to over and over again.
I once sat in the cold for hours listening to Funeral For a Friend - The Miracle of Christmas on my iPod.
The new song is Anberlin - Retrace.

All the time. Seems like lately, though, it's a different song every day almost. But all day, non-stop if I can help it. Today it's Skid Row, 18 and Life. I haven't heard that song in forever but it came on just as I approached my house this evening on my way home from work. I stayed in the car, cranked it, and just immersed myself into the music. Got in, pulled it up on YouTube, and it's been on since. :) Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. :D

Yep, one of those stims that I had never outgrown. I find it comforting. I remember once when I was 12, and was on a family vacation. I listened to my walkman (this was back in the 80's) and played the same song about 5 times. My mother heard it and told me she got a headache from me listening the same song  I now know better, say if my husband is in the same room and if I must listen to the same song like 3+ times, to keep the volume down... even though I listen to it through headphones.

I do at times, but my mother who I now feel was an aspie use to rock in a rocking chair for hours and sometimes all night, especially after Elvis died, now if ever here Elvis records try not to listen to, brings back bad memories..... as an aspie child uncontrollable sound no fun either!

Only if I can manage to listen to the whole piece; normally I get stuck listening to one small fragment over and over.
