I don't believe that having autism and following any kind of religion have any connection to one another.

There may be some connection, but not directly. You know how autistic people won't pick up the culture they're in nearly as well as most people? Well, religion is often part of culture, and to the extent that it is, and the extent that we don't absorb culture, we shouldn't absorb religion either.

I was raised Catholic and dabbled in atheism. I've reached a compromise by considering myself agnostic. I've never met an atheist that wasn't bitter.

I do not believe in a god entity. I believe in the human body and soul. I believe the mind and spirit creates miracles.

Strength, intelligence, will, determination, and love WAY before personal beliefs. I think that is where a lot of people lose sight of what is important.

You do not have to like everyone around you, but you should accept them. Acceptance, whether we like it or not.

I don't believe in religion period, but I wouldn't call myself an Athiest. More like "non-religious".

it is impossible to prove the existence or nonexistence of a supernatural being.

Therefore you could be agnostic, atheist or religious and still be perfectly logical.

As long as you were honest about it all being a matter of faith regardless of what you believe in.

Which no one is, so carry on.

I don't think religion is cut out to work too well with the rigidly rational, logical, analytical and non-conformative.

Yes, I am atheist. And I've got doezens of reasons for this. First and most obvious - is that I can't comprehend the abstract. If I can't experiance something by my senses, it's something I can not believe. Nevertheless - I read Bible. I'm fascinated by the language; and of course the fact that some stories from The New Testament are actually truth... My view is that - some of it really happened. But the people at that time didn't understand much of the world and phenomens that occure in naruture, that is why they tried to explain it all as some Divine Intervention or the Act of God.

I wouldn't classify myself as an Atheist or even Agnostic. But I don't follow any given religion exclusively. I have adopted elements of my beliefs from a whole bunch of different faiths.

As far as believing in God. I believe that if there is such a thing as a singular omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient being, that that being must be the universe itself in totality. Thus we would all be a part of "God" and in a way, we are all "God."

I've noticed a larger percentage of Aspies seem to be Athiests. I just think this is based on the fact that we tend to look for rationality in the world, we are more likely to need to understand things in order to believe in them and we are less subject to the power of other's opinions shaping our own opinions.

I think Atheism is a fine choice, it's a very logical conclusion to arrive at. I just have different views based on things as small as gut feelings and as great as personal experiences. Nothing that would convince any Atheist or Christian or Hindu to change their mind, nor would I want to. I'm quite happy that there's only one person who follows my church and believes the things I believe - and that person is me. I'd hope everyone arrives at their faith in same way, through examination, determination and choice.

I believe in God, but not in the religious systems created by man. Looks to me that they have a few goals, namely; money, control and power.
Therefore I have never joined any religious organization. I can think on my own.

I think a lot of it is that first, there's a big difference between religion and spirituality. Religion is a social way to exhibit spirituality. Since aspies don't necessary socialize too well with those NT's, many (not all) of use find religion a very hard thing to really get into, especially since we kinda expect that world to be more accepting when really they are more judging.
