I've never been interested in this particular experience, but to each his/her own, of course.

I did live near a family in which the younger son tried this, after many, many attempts by his father to convince him not to. Every day, they'd leave the house to go to school, and his father would keep his eye on the kid to make sure he didn't stick his tongue on the icy wrought-iron railing. One morning, the father had to go back in the house for like, two seconds, because he dropped a glove or something, and when he came out, the kid was stuck to the railing by his tongue. They got him unstuck, but part of his tongue remained on the railing until the ice thawed. This was a kid who just wanted to try everything and see what happened. As I recall, he was grounded for quite a few summers for some of the stuff he did.

But he's got a lot of great stories to tell his kid someday. Or maybe not. It might give them   ideas

yes. it does rip the skin of the tongue, just a little!

I am to this day an aspie who picks up hot saucepans, touches the oven shelving without gloves and generally has a heck of a time with fluctuations in hyper and hypo sensitivities. clumsiness plus sensory issues = millie the menace!

ps. i do hope the young neighbour was not grounded for too long......
