hey kiddo - chuckle chuckle- you don;t wanna start getting into drug raves with me! i might actually corrupt you. i kid you not.

(a few people around these traps know a bit about my history. )

i've actually never read much of wordsworth. i am a huge yeats fan however. along with many other poets

quibbling about whether life is good or merely feels it sometimes, is not my bag.
But i am impressed by your WANT to make the distinction.

To me, sometimes life feels good, other times bad, or just nothing, but only once have I ever felt that it's not worth living. That was last Tuesday. But that night I had a good dream, and I woke up feeling happy.

Right now I would say my life has a wack of ups and downs to it, and I would not say I am very emotionally stable at the moment.

I've found that many people like myself live to much inside themselves and in their minds so to break the cycle I enjoy going into the bush and being out in the woods with nature as it provides an entirely different perspective to almost everything compared to four walls of our boxes.
It clears the mind.

I live life less and more... I mean, there are many limits as far as a social life for me obviously, but while everyone is out partying I'm having a good time with my obsessions. So maybe it's even?

That might explain certain things  - As long as the 'shrooms leave you as able to earn a living as you would have been without them, I'd say each to his own_

Well if I'm reading between the lines correctly here, it isn't autistic to question whether one's life is meaningful or merely feels that way. On the contrary, most NTs would probably say the feelings you described earlier are not meaningful, full stop.

I'm interested that no1's acknowledged my distinction between energetic action and mere perception :chin:

Overall, I would say "more" in that I don't let myself get tied down or otherwise wrapped up in the sort of socially-constructed nonsense that most NT's are constrained by. Also, like many of you said, the things we think, sense and percieve are much more detailed and intense.

On the 'down side,' I seldom experience the lasting emotional connections to people or places that NT's do.

My advice (worthless as it is) for anybody who thinks life is passing them by is to go out and buy a good backpack and a cheap car or a good motorcycle and then go out away from family and friends and just see what's out there for the taking by anyone who really wants to live life and have real experiences with hundreds of strange people out there in the real world. Get Real and just go live. Thinking about stuff is for losers.

I wish I could go visit The Real World. It's hard when you're a teenager living a total non-life in the most boring place in the UK.

This is why I love school trips to cities. We went to Newcastle and Leeds, both to see plays with English class, and once to Wembley in London with Guides to see a concert. I wish stuff like that could happen every day.

Are you saying you don't put any thought into your posts?

Anyhow, I recognise it's unhealthy to spend too much time reading and thinking, although a lot of thinking can easily be done at the same time as living.

Your advice sounds cool; but most of us are probably wondering what you mean :?

No I don't. I shoot from the hip and get a lot of flack for doing it but thats just how my mind works. Stuff just comes out whether I want it to or not. Sometimes it can be very embarassing.

Apologies; I didn't mean to embarrass you - I know the feeling of 'anything you say will be used against you' - Peace :)

I think we are all like that at times.

This is the best advice you could give anyone, AS or NT. There is also a good body of research pointing to the psychological benefits of natural experiences.
