Anyone who gets offended by them needs to lighten-up post-haste.

If your offended then it's served it purpose and proven that some of us are indeed hypersensitive whiners.
Asperger's isn't funny. But Assburger's (meeting the criteria listed in the Dramatica article for example) is hilarious.

If something like this really offends you, then re-edit the article. So long as you keep with the element of satire, and what you write is deemed funny, it should stick.

The most offensive thing about unfunny satire is that it misses an important opportunity for actual funniness. If you think these satirical articles are unfun, then the simple solution is to fun them up some.

The "aspergers is a fake disorder" stuff is annoying (mainly because people actually think that). The rest wasn't offensive, just silly.

I MUST be in a GOOD (?) mood or SOMETHING....XDDD Reading all that just didn't offend me. 0-o;; AT ALL. XD And...I found it to be quite funny really o-o;; XD Espesally the ASS BURGERS topic....(in fact...once I saw that pict, I JUST COULDNT STOP LAUGHING XDDDD lol)

Before visiting Encyclopedia Dramatica it is suggested that you take your sense of morality, rip it in two and throw it into a fire.

I think they are just rediculous and not very funny at all but I'm also not offended by them.

Yea, I find that stuff funny precisely because it's so juvenile and stupid.

i am not offended. my personal view is that many people on WP need either a good f@#k or a really good laugh. lighten up. it is great to be freaky. embrace it and live....

I only read a couple of the sites; it annoys me that if the satire was less offensive they would actually be quite funny and helpful . Lets face it they do present a caricature of some of our collective behaviours, and I find that laughing at ones abnormal behaviour is a good form of therapy. Since I have found out about my aspergers I have discussed some of my more memorable meltdowns with my small but loyal group of friends often with much laughter.

I'm not offended by any of that. I think that once in awhile, it's important to be able to make fun of yourself. Personally, anytime I see the word "assburger", I think of this hilarious scene from The Simpsons where Mr. Burns is offered donkey meat but doesn't know what it is.

Perhaps the aspie community should "take back" some of the words that NTs use to describe us. It's just like blacks have taken the n-word back to use among them and gays have taken back the word queer. If we do this, then it would be fine for one aspie to call another aspie an "assburger", but it would be offensive for an NT person to call us that.

As a matter of fact - other groups of disabled people have done this. My BFF who has cerebral palsy, uses several words deemed "offensive" by people with CP to describe other people.

Exactly! It's supposed to be funny, but it's dark humor. I'm not offended by it, although I can see how it can be viewed as offensive. For a truly offensive article, look up "Asperger Syndrome" on Encyclopedia Dramatica. Now that's offensive.
