Well, not good ones. Not funny random ones. Not the stream of interesting, curious, creative thoughts that I like to try and focus on.

Really unpleasant, graphic, occasionally disturbing thoughts. That's why I was unspecific at first.
I'm talking about daydream-enveloping visions of violence, sexual things.... physical profanity. Stuff that I DO NOT want to think about. And these thoughts seem to barge in without warning, totally disrupting my conscious states.

I've thought for a long time that I had many traits of OCD.
Just wondering what this experience is all about, I suppose.

I'm not sure what intrusive thoughts mean.

I often have long drawn out daydreaming periods where I forget where I am and I'm in some kind of other world where I'm someone else and they're talking to someone and me dying or my parents dying or getting a car crash or something horrific happening etc.

If that's what it means, I have them.

I know what you mean. I very occasionally have these, and it's like I can't force them out of my head when they happen (like they just got put there, but I didn't want to think them). I'm just very glad they don't happen very often.

I saw on TV about a guy who gets them, he became an artist to get the thoughts out of his head.
