I'd be down for that. I dunno how likely this idea is though... considering how many of us are in seperate countries

Well, Padium started this thread. Padium will come around in a bus/boat/airplane and pick us all up. Just kidding---I have to say that because I usually take people's humor seriously myself.

What would probably have to happen is to have different groups meeting in different sections or regions. It would be nearly impossible to have one gathering. The United States would have to be divided up into like four or five regional meetings for example.

And Canada just coming along for the two nothern most ones. Alaska can have its own private meeting, or share it with Russia, which I hear Alaskans can see from their backyards.

We just find a way to book the Toronto convention centre, and hope everyone is willing to fly, and have some events planned, and so on, and have a pot to help peopel out a bit that can't normally afford the trip, try to have the Canadian government sponser the event, and so on... I wonder if I could actually get them to sponser such an event...

Canada wouldn't be too unreasonable for me. I'd say I probably live about 3-4 hours away from the border.

I'm really not a very social person at all. Like... even a little bit. But I guess the reason this sounds like a good idea to me is because I feel like maybe I'd fit in with you guys better then I fit in with other people.

EDIT: Apparently I was wrong. According to google maps it'd take me about 2:30 to get to vancouver canada.

The MTCC could be reasonable if you just book 1 or 2 rooms. I live about 25 mins away from there. :)

If I actually did this, I would want to have it well planned, and have everyone attending chip in to cover costs. I am not a good event planner.

Absolutely. If enough people attend, there there is X number of dollars they have to pay to cover the cost of the room rental. Everyone is on their own for food/accomodations. But it's easy to get a group discount rate at a local hotel.

It would be so cool to meet some of you in real life. I would be down for something like that if I ever get the perfect opportunity.
