I had an 80286 motherboard that I wanted to frame and hang on the wall as a piece of contemporary art. My parents weren't thrilled. After I left my previous job, my former coworkers discovered a secret treasure cache in one of the cabinets, hiding defective CD-ROMs, bad network cards, broken hard drives and various cables. You never know what can be useful. For example SIMMs, DIMMs and other memory modules make good bookmarks. And what would you say about the 5 1/4" floppy drive or a 2 ft long CGA (Color Graphics Adapter) with 8-bit XT connector? I don't suppose that Windows XP supports the latter, but this is not a reason to throw out a piece of history! :D

My parents moved me into the basement since I was moving out and my dad wanted my room since it was bigger than the one he was sleeping in.

And yes my parents said that I had to get rid of my electronic circuit boards. I hatred to part with them. I can be a very sentimental person, where as my parents are not. A lot of memories went in the trash that day.

That must have been pretty hard, I would not have been able to do it. I am lucky b/c my parents have always been very understanding of this and tolerate my "junk" pretty well. Sometimes I like to go and look it all over, one at a time. I can be very sentimental as well and don't like certain types of changes.

I think some of the clearest habits of Asperger's syndrome are stereotypies, unusual interests, and emotional "detachment" (the autism of autism). When I notice someone who shows these signs, I start to wonder if they might be a fellow aspie. If I talk to them and their voice is flat and the topics they discuss are obtuse, this furthers my suspicion.

The clearest indicator of autism is the symptom of autism itself: an obliviousness to one's social surroundings. I have it; it's more than just shyness or introversion.
