If only a dozen or so people want to meet-up then that would be possible in many diferent places, ( including a standard hotel/B&B/campsite ), and relatively easy to organise. But I got the impression on Greentea's thread that the number of interested could be in the 20-30 range, at least.

I am personally not desperately excited about attending or organising another small meet this year, though I am thrilled that the one in the S. France is coming off. :D ( numbers 7 + and rising )

The thing is I can't forget someone's idea of a "Glastonbury Festival for AS". So ... please declare yourselves, everyone who is interested in a meet, so that know if we are looking at a few rooms in a B&B/tents in a campsite, or something more extraordinary. :D

WP seems to have enough musicians to make it a glorious musical event if we did!! ! :D

actually, as there are musicians, DJs and artists of all descriptions (who may enjoy the opportunity to share/sell) that would give some structure and purpose if it was AS arts weekend.
Much as I would like to meet others, just sitting around waiting for someone to break the ice (and secretly being on the alert for stimming) would be dire.

However, a showcase of peoples talents, who would know they are in front of an accepting audience seems ideal, and I definately definately would go (I have no talents, but I bake a hellish good cake  )

I just e-mailed for information/availability of self-catering houses and flats on the Royal Holloway College campus, ( Egham, Surrey ), 5 minutes walk from Windsor Great Park, and 15 mins walk/5 mins bus from a mainline station ( central London 30 minutes ).

The prices given on their site are:
House; sleeping 6 in single rooms ( I think ), £407 for 4 nights ( which is the minimum ) which is less than £70/each for 4 nights
Flat; sleeping 4 in single rooms, £276 for 4 nights ( similar to house rate, about £17/night each )
Individual room in a house; £119 for 7 nights ( minimum price )

Which are very interesting prices, if I haven't completely misunderstood the details on the site anyway.

I suspect that there may no longer be much if anything available though, seeing as three other places I've contacted already had bookings in August, and even September. But it might be useful for a big meet next year.

We would have the huge expanse of the gorgeous Windsor Park, ( including wild woodland and deer ), practically on the doorstep, and London close enough for metropolitan lovers. It wouldn't be a venue just for us, but we would have houses/sitting rooms, and also bars and "spaces" on the campus when/if wet/cold. But if we wanted a big room for music etc we would need to hire that separately, ... or hope for fine weather!

:?: What do people think? If there is availability, we could book in small groups of 4 or 6, and anyone later on could rent individually or look for B&Bs/campsites close by.

But I won't hear from them or the school-venue place till Monday at the earliest. So there is plenty of time for all those who fancy a WP London meet-up to express an opinion!

Edit. Just thought I'd better post this separately so it isn't mixed up with accommodation info. :)

 :!:  I'm not going to carry on planning/researching anything though after I hear from them, unless at least 10 people ( other than misslottie, KenG, Ligea Seroua, Lotusblossom, and the three/four others who already have ), express a serious interest in this meet-up, on this thread, ( and it would be great if other people got involved with organising it too ).

... because I'm fed up of feeling like the most boring person in the room going on about something noone else, ( or almost ), is interested in. Ok! 8)

That's why the Royal Holloway campus prices are so interesting. They are almost as low as, if not lower than, most youth hostels and campsites, ( about £17/night ). :D And you'd have a real room of your own and a bathroom in the corridor to share with only 3/5 other people.

The only drawback is that have to pay the full £70 for the four nights, even if only want to stay three, or two.

And here are some pictures of Windsor Great Park five minutes walk from the campus:

I really hope that they still have at least 4 houses or 5 flats available so we would have a core "accomodation-base" on campus, ( and that I haven't totally misunderstood the house/flat rental rates ) .

Edit. I have just had another look at the Royal Holloway College campus site, and it clearly states;

Cost of hiring a house, ( which sleeps 6 ) is £407 for 4 nights, and
Cost of hiring a flat, ( which sleeps 4 ) is £276 for 4 nights.

So I just hope there are still enough of them available. If there are then, assuming enough people are interested to make it worthwhile, we could book in small groups to share with 3/5 people we feel most comfortable with.

This is a WP meet so you are welcome, and anyway, haven't you got synaesthesia, which isn't exactly NT? !

I hope you can save up the money. :) We will need to book something fairly soon, ( unless there are only a few people interested :( in which case everyone would probably just organise their own accomm individually at a B&B/campsite near London ).

I do have Synaesthesia <3 and I didn't say I was NT, just that I am non-Autistic :P
I just thought I should ask in case you guys just wanted a purely Autie/Aspie meet, which I would understand since you spend enough time around non-Auties/Aspies you probably want a break hehe.

So anyway thank you I would love to come, when are you thinking it would be? :D

August, probably, because the largest number of votes on the London-meet date-poll thread,
( a few pages away now  ), were for August, or for anytime in July/August/September.

Update: Nothing new !

I'm still waiting to hear from both Royal Holloway College and the agents "Textbook Venues" in reply to my e-mails, ( sent Saturday ), asking for info about accommodation/venue availability, which is a surprisingly slow response, compared to the other 6 or 7 places I have contacted in the last couple of weeks.

:!: I got a mail from Royal Holloway College, saying that they only have 6 flats ( which sleep 4 ) left, and only between 24 August and 6 September.

That is rooms for 24 people in total, at £276 for each flat for 4 nights, which works out at about £70 each for four nights self-catering, very close to London, ( 10 minutes walk from Egham railway station which is 25 minutes from London by train ).

The first weekend in that period is the Saturday 29 - Sunday 30 August. We could arrive Thursday/Friday and stay till the Monday/Tuesday.

Who would be interested? See previous page for pictures of Windsor Great Park which is next to it. :D

:!:  Please post on this thread to say whether you are interested in, willing and able to come to, a London meet at this venue on those dates. This is important, and fairly urgent, and also the last time I'm going to ask.

Apparently we can make a "provisional" booking, but this would probably only be worthwhile if at least 12 people, preferably 16, were seriously intending to come. So we need to know NOW who is definitely/very probably likely to want accommodation. ( the flats will probably not be available for much longer )
