Go to your doctor NOW, don't walk, run. This is your f*****g life don't wait around to see if things get better because it could be something serious and you could easily die or worse suffer beyond your darkest nightmares.

When I get into an anxiety-depression-stress cycle, it starts feeding on itself and gets worse until something breaks me out of the spiral. In the case of what happens to me, it's a sort of closed-loop syndrome. Certain triggers cause me to feel anxiety and disorientation or threatened, and that causes me to experience stress and the stress hormones cause me to become more anxious, disoriented, etc.

The thing about nutritional therapies is that they take weeks and months to work. Then, the change is so gradual that you don't really notice it. What you're really doing with nutritional therapy is building new, better cell membranes and supporting the function of organs that control your hormones and other things like that. You're literally growing a better body, by using nutritional therapy, so the change is so gradual and takes place in such tiny steps that you might not think anything is happening. So when you're doing a nutritional therapy, you start it and a couple of months later, you look back and see if there are any negative or positive changes you can point to as being generally better or worse. A lot of it is pretty subtle and you just have to go on faith until you get some confirmation that your changes either worked or didn't work.

There are lots of things, including emotional trauma, that could be contributing to your anxiety and mood cycles. I'm assuming here that your issue is mainly about mood stabilization.

I take fairly decent but not huge doses of Sam-e (400 mg in the morning 1 hour before eating) and when I do, I tend to not have anxiety attacks anymore. Sam-e serves a lot of good functions in the body, and it can be prescribed for bipolar disorder. It tends to act more like an upper than a stabilizer, so it's not good for people who get too manic. It might be better for people who have bouts of depression, or negative mood swings.

Fish oil Omega 3 fatty acids are also prescribed for mood swings and depression. I've been taking fairly substantial but not mega doses of Omega 3 fatty acids in marine fish oil form, which are the ones that are best for building good cell membranes for brain function. Fish oil Omega 3 fatty acids have been tested in studies for bipolar disorder and major depression, and work very well. Some mood instability is really helped by taking large doses (~1 tablespoon per day) of marine fish oil Omega 3's. I take 1 tsp of cod liver oil a day for the natural vitamin D and A. Then I take a couple of teaspoons of 18/12 marine fish oil (from sardines, herrings) where the ratio of the Omega 3s EPA:DHA is 18:12. A high EPA:DHA ratio is what was used in the bipolar/depression studies. I'm thinking about ordering Krill oil as its Omega 3 fatty acids are already in a form that our brain uses more easily.

It's very important to get enough Vitamin D, the "sunshine vitamin" that our skin makes naturally when we're out in the sun. The U.S. hasn't updated its recommendation for Vitamin D in decades, and it's way too low at 400 I.U. Adults should be getting a minimum of 1000-2000 I.U. of Vitamin D per day depending on what age they are. It's especially important during the winter when we aren't getting out in the sun so our skin can make it naturally. Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to a lot of metabolic problems, including bone and brain function. The USRDA for Vitamin D is currently 400 I.U. which is WAY too low -- that's just the level that they determined prevented rickets, decades ago. Since then, the USRDA for Vitamin D hasn't been updated, despite findings that it is a big player in brain function and its deficiency is probably the cause of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). The best vitamin D to take is currently believed to be D3 (cholecalciferol). You can get Vitamin D in vegetable form (D2) from mushrooms like shitake mushrooms.

I also take nutrients that are good for tissue health, as they help keep cell membranes together and keep metabolism stable and functioning well. These would be MSM, glucosamine, huyaluronic acid and chondroitin. (I also take these for joints because I run). These Glucosamin-Chondroitin-MSM-Huyaluronic acid formulas tend to appear in "skin beauty", "joint and arthritis" and other tissue-health supplements. These also help stabilize mood, in my opinion.

It's best to see a doctor before trying to treat any problem just with nutritional therapies, in case there is some obvious medical cause. Nutritional therapy is more of a long-term project that you can do whether or not you are seeing a doctor but it can't replace seeing a doctor unless you're an expert as a natural healer.

By the way, I never take "megadoses" of any nutritional supplement. That can be dangerous. Nutritional therapy is best when you are making sure you're getting enough of a thing you might need. Some people take megadoses of a beneficial vitamin, like Vitamin E, thinking that if a little bit is good, a lot will have some super effect. Megadosing isn't safe unless you know what the adverse effects can be. It's a good idea to never megadose with oil-based nutrients like Vitamin A and E by much, because you can't pee off excessive amounts of oil-based vitamins, they stay in your system and can cause toxicity side effects. People can have problems with taking 400 I.U. supplements of Vitamin E which is only about 10 x the USRDA. So it's easy to get in trouble taking excessive Vitamin A and vitamin E.

I haven't had an inexplicable anxiety attack in weeks, since I started on my therapeutic diet.

Have you seen a doctor about this? You should.

I really want to go to a doctor but I don't know how to explain this to my mom who would be the one taking me to the doctor.

First of all, two days for a supplement to start working really isn't long enough. Odd question, but is your pee neon green yet?

There are other supplements you can take. St. John's Wort for example.

Also you can try doing 20-30 minutes of cardio exercise every day. Getting your heart rate up helps with depression.

Watch what you're eating; make sure it's healthy. Eating a lot of junk food can negatively impact your mood.

No, my pee is weird some times the color of it is so pale that it looks as clear as water and than some times it it is like a sunshine sort of yellow. Why should my pee become a neon yellow?

Clear pee is good because it means you're drinking enough water, but neon green pee is a sign that the B vitamins are working, or are at least in a large enough supply in your body that they can start working.

I have taken HUGE doses of B vitamins, and my pee starts to SMELL like B vitamins. It looks YELLOW! If your pee is clear, and you go to the rest room a LOT, it can mean you are drinking too much water, going too often, or have a problem like diabetes. The kidneys have four purposes basically. Control blood volume, adjust some vitamins and minerals, remove waste, and recycle water. Over time, more and more of the water will be replaced by waste.

BTW B vitamins CAN help fast. If you don't have enough minerals and protein, though, they may not help at all.

Tell her exactly what you told us. Memory loss with headaches is not normal for anyone, and should be evaluated. Not to scare you, and it could be something relatively minor, but it also could be something that will get worse and leave permanent damage. You want to make sure you get it stopped early, if it's one of those things.

Mom, I think I need to go to a doctor. I've been feeling really depressed sometimes and get these awful headaches. When this all happens my memory is really bad, and so I'm concerned that there's something not quite right and would like to have it checked out.

Yea I could say that, but i am thinkin about mentioning when i go for my check up because i don't want her to worry about me if she finds out i am depressed.

When I'm stressed or depressed I cant remember things and once my stress goes down I go back to normal.

This is the reason I disappear or post less on WP sometimes.

This is a mild form of panic attack. I used to get it . My doctor told me about it.
Mild panic attacks have only one or 2 symptoms of a full blown panic attack.
So your probably over stressed.

My communication get so bad and I just don't talk to anybody until i feel better.
hence why i avoid WP.

Does it feel like there is something blocking your ability to think ?

I think your problem is stress your way to stressed and you need to take some time and relax.

Do you have any way of taking some time off to be alone for a day or two?

I find if I can get away from people and sit by myself for a day or two it does wonders to reduce my stress levels.

Yea I have been getting a lil better recently. I think it was due to the fact that I couldn't get a goods night rest and i woke up at least 3-5 times during the night. I will go to the doctor though because i think all of this might be a underlining for sumtin worst.

thank you so much, It is about time i took some type of action because this feeling has come over me every year for the past 5 or 6 years and it is horrid. I notice that my autistic traits really stick out.
