Yes, I am Jewish, but only geneticly, I'm an atheist.

Learning2Survive, can you send your suitors to me? No need for the lawyers tough, we have enough of them here

ShadesOfMe, it wasn't *testing*, more like an interview in three parts...
And no wasn't tough at all, very recommended :D

DentArthurDent, I knew I'm aspie, for over a year now, it just took me time to figure out if I wantd an official diagnosis. now no one can argue with me about it!

so you want to marry into the jewish mafia? Image i can hook you up with the one with the baddest beard? no but seriously the orthodox jews in our conservative synagogues are DYING for chicks from Israel - cuz they want a chick who at least wants to become an orthodox jew. sorry, the musician just came back from Israel with a wife ;) you might have to settle for a lawyer. (get it? - "settle")

Your Jewish too?! A conservative?!
Shouldn't you be learning some Tora instead of wasting your time around here?! Just joking!

I don't do any of the jowish-suff (whatever that means...), so I'll be a big disappointment for your guys...

Did you recieve an official verbal diagnosis, or a typed up written report with a diagnostic code?

I recived an verbal diagnosis, and a written report (in handwriting) signd by the doctor.

"diagnostic code" what's that?

Well, it could be nice if I would have recived a certificate saying
"The person carrying this certificate is on the autistic spectrum"
but no... nothing like that

My mothers mother is part Jewish, goes back a number of generations.. I beleive my grandmother Jewish ancesteral lineage is derived from the tribe of Levi because the surname is Cohen and has been traced to Alexandria Egypt circa ~600-650 AD. It is written in some historical texts that there was a fire in Alexandria circa 600AD which destroyed records predating the fire. Migh of been able to trace linege back to the time of the exile of Jeremias day.

I suppose from a maternal ancesteral lineage, I am also part Jewish but also bunch of other stuff... Go far enough back, everyone is part everything.

I have a second aunt (my mom and her mom are cousins) who has been doing geneology work for over 20-25 years. Had others in the family going back a few generations that has records going back to 1500-1550 for the whole family tree.

Because I have a few ancestors who were of nobility in Europe in the middle ages and also rabbais in Europe and the Middle East around the same time, their lineage were recorded further back.

For example, an ancestor of mine is Pierre Tremblay (Trombley), approximately 30,000 other people in the US and ~50,000 in canada shares that common ancestor. He came to New France (Montreal Quebec) in 1646. His grandson settled in the Detroix area around 1715. Pierre Tremblay had an older brother who inherited the family castle in France but I do not remember where. Pierre came to the new world to 'make his fortune'.

The way I see it, it is good for telling stories and intersting to see where your ancestry comes from but that is about it. Everyone traces theirs back far enough, we all end up having pretty much all the same ancestors... (truly a heinz 57).
