Wouldn't it be simpler to type the URL and then create a macro of it in a wordprocessing program?

I'm don't know how that would work. I do know that every time someone links to wrongplanet, it helps to raise awareness of the site. I think a lot of people who have aspergers don't even know about aspergers. By linking to WrongPlanet, you not only raise awareness of aspergers, but you raise awareness of the fact that there is such a great community and resource for those with the syndrome.
