I've not been diagnosed.

I must've been 23 when I found out I had it, though.

My son was 7 when we finally got him dx! But they thought at 3 something was wrong and he might have AS. They would not test him tell he got older though.

I was never officially diagnosed but my psychologist first told me I had it when I was 22.

I was diagnosed with some vague form of "autism" when I was around twelve or thirteen. However, the diagnosis ended up being swept under the rug, all those years ago, because Asperger Syndrome wasn't as widely accepted during the Nineties. Everyone except my neurologist still thought that autists were all mentally ret*d, and theoretically I hadn't missed a single milestone in my cognitive development. The neurologist (a little ahead of his time, really) was too expensive to keep going to over and over again, so only the Tourette's, which has NEVER been a problem for me (in fact, it helped keep many would-be bullies convinced that I was likely to turn on them one day, so it really served more as a shield), really received any attention (largely putting me on various medications that just turned me suicidal).

Recently, that diagnosis has been adjusted to Asperger Syndrome, and now I can get "free" therapy and a support group through a state-funded program.

Ah yes.

What wonderful times those were *sarcasm*.

Good job that there were good games and music to distract me and at least keep me at least semi-sane. 8O

I was diagnosed in 1997. I was in 5th grade at the time. I never really understood my condition until high school or so.

I was 19. We had to really kick some ass to get a diagnosis though.
