There's a very prominent physician (child neurologist, I believe) in the city I live in that has been dxed AS. He's very, very good at what he does, and his clinic is always packed. Part of the reason that his clinic is always so packed, from what I heard is because he always takes all the time the parents want to answer their questions, and he takes an amazing amount of time to talk to the kids. Many people know that he has AS, but he's such a great doctor that they don't care. So, yes you can be a doctor, and have a dx of AS.

three more years of college (6 years already), and I will have a doctorate. Rather go to law school for a juris doctorate.

I know several doctor aspies. And, frankly, it takes a bit of autie obsessiveness just to get THROUGH medical school.

I agree. I imagine a lot of surgeons are Aspies, as surgeons need to be able to concentrate for long periods of time, need to be visual thinkers, and be driven. And the usual interaction with patients (other then the interview and assessment) is when the patients are under anethesia. :)

As according to a Asperges friend of mine, Asperges people cant work in certain professions, e.g., police, fire service, or Healthcare. I haven't been officially diagnosed though, so is what he says true, and of so will it prevent me from becoming a doctor :?:
