I think if someone puts their hand on you in an aggressive context, then you have the right to file assault changes. As some others have said on this post, you need to be able to prove it.

When I used to work at a grocery store, frequently this jerk would tackle me and punch me in the shoulder. If I had more self-confidence then I probably would have filed assault charges. Problem was that some of the time the only person to see him assault me was his girlfriend, and obviously she isn't going to rat him out. This other girl saw him tackle me once so I probably could have gotten her to talk.

You have to stand up for yourself when you have an ASD and you are prone to having people pick on you. Even if you are not injured, no-one has the right to put their hands on you like that.

I can't believe my only option in this situation was to throw.

Why would I call the police to file false assault charges?

I don't think I have to prove anything.

What is wrong with some of these NT ret*ds? It is AGAINST THE LAW to put your hands on someone.

I'm sorry, but I just wanted to point out you seem to prejudiced towards NTs. It is a misconception to think being pushy has anything to do with being an NT, there are plenty of aggressive autistics out there.

its simple, taser or pepper spray, he does puts hands on you taser his ass, because it falls under the self defense clause, you have the legal right to defend yourself against assualt. Trust me, 100,000, 1/16th amp jolt through his NT ass will make him reconsider his actions, because if he escalates afterward, he will leave marks, which will be enough to press charges.

Filing criminal charges is a tool you can use.

You just need to use it strategically.

Some people need a good punch in the face. However, a "bully" knows how to work the system. They trigger an incident and then run crying when someone fights back, making the victim look like the aggressor. A smart cop, or supervisor, will see right through it, but the bully establishes himself (or herself) by knowing how to work the system.

NT or AS, you have to know how to play the game. The advantage of filing a formal charge is that there is little one can do against it but claim innocence. If you gave the guy enough fair chances to do right before the incident the resorted to filing charges, he has only himself to blame.
