I recall feeling that 'we don't want your kind around here' was a sentiment that followed me everywhere, starting with my own family. I was just not allowed the same access to things like work and higher education that others were, and people actively try to exclude you with things like ridicule and pretending you don't exist.

The only thing that kept me going (this was before I was dx'ed) was the idea that I had the 'right' to do what others did. It was very puzzling why I wasn't 'allowed' to do what others did and it's one of the things that led me to seek a dx - essentially people treated me like a third class citizen, like someone with a disability. 8O

I don't think anybody wants to get rid of me anymore but I don't think they really want me either. Some people in school told me they wished I were dead and that actually motivated me to keep going. It was my drive to piss them off by being alive that kept me going.

It seems to me that NTs tend to stay away from us because we don't give them the emotional energy they thrive on. By socializing, they get an emotional boost, but we don't, and it makes them feel strange around us - like we're some kind of aliens that don't speak their language. Strangely enough, I feel pretty outgoing around people who (I suspect) are Aspies, probably because I don't feel pressured to mold my personality into a form that is uncomfortable for me to be in.

Rid-dle topic

Not true, Greentea--or anyone else at WP. I do not want rid of you or anyone here.

In real life, if you do not let people bother you, this feeling will not occur.

See? I am still here. And so are all of you. :)

there is, however, in fact a major upside to all of this: allow this to be the method you learn to not care what others think of you.

Consider it a blessing in disguise.

As I always tell people: "why should I care what anyone thinks of me? No one ever seems to like me or want me around, so after a while, I just stopped caring!"

Trust me...socialization is totally overrated anyway, and it's not worth your time. Besides, most of those people who won't give you the time of day don't deserve yours, anyway.

They're mostly little, petty people who like to spread rumors, think your friends are losers...with theirs really being no better, not to mention themselves.

Why do you think I now see myself as a cross between Superman and Lex Luthor?

I have Luthor's contempt for humanity, and his intellect( at least that's what people seem to tell me), and Superman's moral code. My boss even agreed with me on it.

yes, they're not getting a 'feed' from us, NTs get a 'feelgood' buzz from socialising with other NTs, it's like a form of nourishment, but they get nothing from us, so there's no need for them to cultivate us.

Well, there is..but it'd be for logical reasons. Most people are emotion-based, so they don't figure that out.

It's unfortunate that we feel this way, I too feel that I'm not wanted. I never get invited to go out, although I usually don't like to do what everyone else wants to do anyway, like get drunk and act stupid.

Does everyone want rid of you?

- Not half as vigourously as I wish to be rid of them! ! :D

Oh hell yes. They like me at first, but after a while they just lose contact and disappear.

As I always say on WP: because they're your landlords and you need to live somewhere. Because they're your employers and you need food and a roof to survive. Because they're your doctors and you need to get cooperation to make informed decisions and get well. Because they're your parents and/or siblings and it's extremely traumatic to be wanted rid of by immediate family. You must be extremely rich to not need contact with anyone.

You're confusing needed contact with desired contact, my good man.

Don't ever forget that. If that's what you really are telling people than you better make sure you don't confuse the two ever again.

For those who don't know the difference, as I stated above, here it is:

If you have good credit, and are a damn hard worker at your job, and treat people well, regardless of what they think of you specifically, they're not gonna can you at a job or kick you out of your place. And if they do can you at your job....start your own business!

Just remember- Autistic people are a lot more likely to prioritize better, and keep to their word; something NTs don't; which should actually make us a lot more desirable in regards to residency in the very least.

Desired contact, of course, refers to socialization and all that. And I've only stated a million times how utterly over-rated it really is. "Oh no...what does this prima donna who's drunk off her @$$ with three kids think of me?" Oh, who the $%#@ cares?! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !

Most are already rid of me. I'm oblivious as to whether they actively wanted this or were mostly indifferent: I was on a different path that rarely crossed with theirs.
